I visited Ken's Sidewalk Cafe while in Southern Oregon on a suprise visit to see my dad. Dad works in Canyonville and said he had been by before and it was really good so we drove over from Myrtle Creek. The menu is pretty extensive and we quickly found things we wanted to order. Food was a little pricey for what they serve paying $30 for Onion rings, a chili dog, tea, and 6 Taquitos. The wait was not too bad considering how small the establishment is.
The service though turned out to be the major concern. Our food came out and my Taquitos came out covered in sour cream and cheese which were not mentioned on the menu and I have a severe dairy intolerance. My dad went to the pick up window to request a box and some new Taquitos, which he explained he would be happy to pay for. He planned to eat the original order.
The woman at the window ignored him as he tried to speak to her continuing to make a milkshake. He waited till she was done and asked again at which time she yelled at him very rudely to get away from the pick up window and get in the line at the order window. Dad attempted to again explain the situation and she returned to ignoring him. Dad was really upset.
So I went up and asked to talk to the manager. The owner Ken came to speak with me and I explained what happened. He said his employee was very busy so it was ok. I even asked him to clarify that he meant yelling at customers was ok? He said it was as she was busy. I was very shocked and we decided to box up all our food and go home.
The food was good. Best onion rings I've ever had, but honestly it wasn't worth the poor service. The fact they foster a work environment where being busy is a justification for being so unpleasant will ensure I...
Read moreJust came back from a great weekend with my girl and our mini French ie UZI, spending our time at 7th Feathers Casino in Canyonville. Had an awesome time despite loosing a fee dollars. Anyone familiar with Cayonville its a tiny town located right next to I-5 with approximately a few thousand people who are blessed to enjoy a very small town in the beautiful Oregon mountains. If your looking for food to grub on the choices are very very limited. It's not the quantity it's the quality. Ken's Sidewalk Cafe invented this saying. Food was so good we ate 3 meals in 2 days there. From awesome hamburgers to the best frys ever!. Very busy place yet the service is so fast and all working people with smiles and consistency at its best. Even if you wait a few minutes for food thier small but cool outdoor seating with a very charming garden to enjoy. Clean and just a great place to feed your craving for fattening food from open to close. Don't even give Burger King a second or even a 3rd thought if your looking to eat. Doesn't even compare from the food quality to cost. So from the casino don't turn right turn left and you should see Ken's because the first thing you will notice is the crowd waiting to order. Best fast food I have had in years. Go order 1 of everything of course not at once you could die. And there not be frys left for me. Your...
Read moreThis used to be a great burger place but since covid the cheeseburgers are made with little care and terrible lettuce. They use shredded bagged lettuce and often let it sit for to long. I will get a small tomato that is sliced from the end and is tough to chew for the entire burger. The cooks won't follow simple requests like a change of cheese or "light lettuce". The sauce they put on the burger taste rotten, I'm truly not sure what there putting out anymore. They have good French fries, congratulations. This sincerely was my favorite restaurant for years. I would happily go back if they start putting care into their product again. I understand covid was tough on all business, especially small establishments like this one but It's been long enough. I know the employees there know how to make a good cheeseburger they choose not to because the establishment has become content with putting out trash. The staff however are always helpful and polite no...
