I don't give out terrible ratings very much but if it had not been for the calamari, the one good entree and great service this place would be looking at a terrible rating. I gave them a poor rating this time. Really cute tiny place. Just about 15 tables inside maybe fewer and a few outside. There is also a bar with a few seats. The accoustics are horrible so I would not recommend you take a date here or anyone that you need to actually hear. You will need to yell if it's busy. I read so pretty good reviews on this place that's why we chose it. I love Greek food and Greek was a specialty of mine in culinary school. Service was great! We did have to wait about 20 minutes. Basket of bread was brought out french type bread with butter, garlic and red pepper. We asked for just garlic bread as my son could not tolerate the red pepper and we were told they couldn't do that. I am notqq sure why since. They could just leave off the pepper. Raspberry tea was refreshing. We ordered calamari and also dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). The calamari was fried. It was good. The batter was light and crispy. My 6 year old who is the King off Calamari said it was in his top 5 calamaris he has had in his life. The dolmades were a GIANT UPSET. This were stuffed with meat (too much meat most authentic Greek dolmades do not have meat) and rice and it had a sauce that was their attempt at an Avgolemono Sauce. The sauce was bland, a little bitter and had a bad after taste. These were just flat out horrible. They were bland and the meat didn't taste fresh and they were very hard. The moussaka was ordered and came out with a great plate presentation. We we're excited about this item. This item did not meet our expectations. It was lacking flavor but it did have WAY too much nutmeg. It overpowered the dish. So basically it ended up being a pretty nutmeg mash. The Eggplant parm with linguini pasta with marinara sauce. This did NOT have good presentation and tasted disgusting. I have never had slimy eggplant parmesan. This was a slimy mess. It looked and tasted as if someone stewed the eggplant then put mozzarella cheese on it and threw some Ragu pasta sauce on top. This was the worst entree of all that was ordered. Only a few bites we're consumed just so this review could be written. The SPECIAL of the night was a steak with some stuff on top like Gorgonzola. We ordered this for my 6 yr old but ordered just the steak medium rare with nothing on it. Surprise they got this right. The steak look really good, was pleasing to the eye, was cooked to medium rare and actually tasted good. Of all the entrees ordered the steak was the best. It did come with a poor attempt of home fries. They were very large, burned and lacked flavor. We all tried them and all agreed they were disgusting. My entree was one of my favorite Greek dishes. Spanakopita (spinach pie). My order included Greek potatoes. The presentation was very nice. The Philo dough was a touch burned at the ends. But other than that looked good. The flavor was not too horribly bad although it didn't have the freshness I like to see in my spanakopita and the Philo dough was a bit tough inside. The Greek potatoes basically were burned potatoe chunks with green herb sprinkles. NO FLAVOR at all. Our bill was over $100 and we had no alcoholic drinks. I have eaten at much better places and charge a little less when not drinking alcohol of course. I don't mind paying for good food but when the entire table has 80% or more of their food left on their plates and don't want take home boxes you know there is a problem. We let our server know we were not happy but no one came to acknowledge our bad dining experience. This restaurant has a ways to go on being an award winning establishment. I will save my money next time and just make my...
Read moreThis used to be our “Go To” Italian/Greek restaurant. The consistency of quality food and service has really went down hill. We placed a go order a couple of weeks ago and spent over $50 for three people and didn’t eat any of it! Chicken parm was all breading and the chicken itself was like eating rubber. The other chicken dish we ordered was supposed to be “lightly floured”, it tasted like it was dipped in a bucket of eggs and flour a million times over. The ziti our son ordered tasted like they forgot to cook the pasta and the sauce had a metal taste to it. We asked for bread And their dipping sauce. We received 3 end pieces of bread that were all burnt around the edges and they didn’t include the dipping sauce. We called and talked to the owner, George. I offered to bring the food back to show proof how bad this entire order was. He apologized and said “things happen, just ask for me when the next time you come in and I will take care of your meals”. Fair enough, however it would be the last opportunity we would give this place to redeem itself, as the previous 3 times we went, we had issues with the food not being up to par and only mediocre service. So we went to dinner last night. We ate our 3 meals, the ziti was on par, I had to send my steak Marsala I ordered medium back because it was so under cooked it was practically beating on my plate like a heart. No seasoning or flavor on the steak and the dish had so many thick purple onion slices, it totally overpowered the flavors. The chicken Alfredo was good, but was a child like portion. When we asked for the owner, George he gave a $20 comp on a $75 ticket to make up for the previous $53 to go order we had to throw out. WOW, this was not about the money, but all about the principal. The owner is pompous and obviously doesn’t care about his customers or if they...
Read moreWe used to go to Cenos grill 2-3 times a week and have always had a decent experience. Good food and the wait staff is fabulous. The manager, not so much.
Tonight was an escalated experience which the manager showed where customers rate, at the bottom. We had a table outside and the sun was bright so we moved an umbrella. The manager came reeling out and BARKED “you cannot move that, put it back”. Claiming it was blocking the walkway. There were many other ways for her to handle this other than putting the customer on the defense. She continues to argue and was incredibly rude. A major B.
A large party came in and she seated them next to us. Placing a chair where the umbrella was. I mentioned to the manager that the umbrella was not ok but a chair for another customer was? She started to tell me how rude my husband was. This was the manager!
She was going overboard for the table next to us. Come to find out it was one of the owners of the restaurant. The table was smoking heavy and blowing it into our table on purpose as the manager said something to them about us.
There are so many options to eat in Cape Coral. This does not need to be one of them. George, your establishment sucks with this manager. She is NOT customer oriented and incredibly rude. My $ will be spent elsewhere. Unfortunate. I enjoyed my quick trip from Cape Harbour and will be sure to share with my neighbors.
Run fast away from Ceno! However, if you want amazing customer service RUN to Cape Coral Creamery. Rebecca the...
