Love Boat Home Made Ice Cream — Restaurant in Cape Coral

We went here the other day and I was actually a little bit disappointed. The ice cream taste are fine however, the service was not so great. The kids behind the counter we’re doing a lot of talking amongst themselves and it’s like they didn’t even notice me and my 6 foot three husband Was standing there ready to order. I know I did tell them that I had to look a little bit at all the flavors to make my decision, but then it was like I didn’t exist and we’re like standing there while they were chatting amongst themselves and it was just a little bit awkward.

I think my biggest complaint was that it was just dirty. I mean, I know ice cream is a little bit messy, but we sat at one of the tables and we’re sitting by this bookcase of binders that have each state on them for people to sign as guest books I guess. But they were covered in ice cream, and it was disgusting to look at . The floor was pretty gross, and the tables weren’t cleaned.

If I had no choice, I’d go to this location again I guess, but it was kind of gross.

This was our second time visiting Love Boat in 10 years: the first time was within a couple of days of when we got married and the second time was just after our 10th wedding anniversary when we were visiting Ft. Myers Beach once again.

This was, flat out, the BEST sundae I have ever had...with no exceptions. They were completely okay with me making a substitution which made what I ordered that much better, which was appreciated.

Check out the pictures of the Reese's Sundae that I ordered ( peanut butter, hot fudge, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and cookie dough ice cream in lieu of vanilla, which was the substitution I had requested ) and you can see why this place gets the high marks that it does. Fantastic !

P.S. -- We went in mid-October, 2021 and there were no mask or vaccination requirements to enter this establishment.

P.P.S. -- My wife and I stopped again today and I had the cone shown in the attached picture ( Cinnamon Caramel Pecan ). Good LORD was...

The Love Boat, San Carlos Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter. My first time going to the many ice cream joints around here. The food. I got a chocolate malted shake. OBA OBA 7 bucks. This is the most expensive shake I have ever had. It was thick. I could not suck on the straw until 25 minutes after getting home. Very chocolatey and sweet. Yes I tasted the malt. Is it worth 7 dollars??? NO. Maybe $5.50 or $6 but 7 bucks...no... Service was quick and nice. Chatter...I hated the design of the parking lot. Only 1 way in and out ...plus you had to circle around the entire building to leave. Handicapped parking is a long 75 feet from the only entrance. If you have never been here before you do not know this. Again stupid floridian designers they should have and could have place the disable spots IFO the only entrance. They failed to follow the spirit of the disabilities act. Another reason florida is always in the top 5 of worst...
