Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marnia Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon about 5ish. The Parking lot was filled but someone was leaving so we got a spot. This lot is not that big, but they do have Valet Parking and a separate lot nearby for overflow. One thing to mention you can’t bring any drinks into this park that includes water. Once inside there were a bunch of Food Trucks serving all kinds of foods and deserts. They had Addison’s Chicken. Chop It Up, Gogi Gourmet, Greek Spot Go, Lobster Chef, Not Yo Moma’s Tacos, Philly Express, Smokestream BBQ, The Crooked Cow, Yunta Cubana just to name a few. One thing puzzled us is that there were no lines at any of the food trucks. That’s because we discovered that you sit down at a table and each table is numbered and there is a QR code at each table for you to scan. Once scanned the web site come up with all the food trucks and their menus so you can order from there and pay right from there. Once you’ve ordered and paid there are servers that will bring your food right to your table without you even getting up. They will also take your drink orders from you right at your seats no need to get up. We had soft drinks and they have more than enough to suit anyone, and refills were free. We did order a Dirty Banana, but consensus was it was not that good. I ordered a Cheesesteak from Philly Express, and my wife ordered a Lobster Roll and Fries from Lobster Chef. Our friend ordered the Chicken Strips from Addison’s Chicken. Our food got delivered quick and it was very good. Everything was hot and there was plenty of it. We loved the food and the live music was a great addition. It’s such a great atmosphere very laid back. The Bar area is very large but gets filled quickly. They have a store that sells some Knick Knacks, Tees Shirts, and souvenirs. Even the rest rooms were clean. There are plenty of boat slips to dock your boat and chill or get a drink and grab a bite to eat. Come on down and get yourself some! I would have gave this place 5 stars for the food and the fun factor but I knocked a star off because of the tip confusion. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me On FB For More Reviews &...
Read moreI have been here a few times, my family goes there weekly if not twice a week by boat. Today was a terrible experience. I only went there to pick up my father-in-law, who actually was there for over 2 hours at the establishment. He did not want to go back home by boat. I pulled up to the valet to pick up and the valet employees are always so exceptionally nice.I asked if I could just wait here to pick him up as I texted him that I was there. My father in law said he just ordered food and asked me to come in, I asked the valet to park my car and they said they'd be happy to do so. I was there fifteen minutes to wait for him to finish eating his dinner and brought his cooler off of the boat to get him to my car. I was approached by James, and he told me i couldn't be in the establishment with a cooler.I explained to him.I was only picking somebody up and I did not have a cooler in here that he could not go back on the boat and he called me for a ride. James continue to follow me all the way to the valet, telling me about a policy and I tried to explain to him, I understand I was only there picking up someone. James said this is not a place to park your car and go on a boat. I explained to him again. That is not what I did. He did not listen. I tipped the valet guy and told the valet guy to please explain to him that I was not there all day parking my car to ride on a boat. I've worked in customer service and in food service over half my life. That's not how you treat customers. They need to have some happy employees there, so they can keep their customers. They also need employees to actually know what is going on and to listen. There are to many other...
Read moreWe lucked out getting a handicap parking spot around 3:00 Saturday. Walked through the whole area, checked out the wide variety of Food Trucks, (prices averaged between $12-$25, lobster is more expensive (we didn’t eat anything). We looked at the boat slips (they were full), went into the Ships store (nice). The covered bar/eating area was packed and a single act was performing on stage. We decided to come back at 8:00 that night to see Riverside Band (they’re good) and have a drink. Didn’t see any open parking spots but was able to get a handicap spot. They did have Valet parking but I don’t know where they take your car. We grabbed a seat at a table in the bar/eating area. Took a while for one of the girls to take our order. (They have a lot of areas to cover). About 10 minutes later we got our drinks. It was pretty noisy with all the people talking at the bar and all around us. It was a bit hard for the band to draw people’s attention unless you have a table right by the band. There was 1 picnic table out towards the front of the stage to sit and watch the band, otherwise you have to stand. The ceiling lighting was very bright and there were misters on which at times made us feel like we were in a rain forest. Our clothes were damp and kept getting splashed with water droplets. We got our bill for 2 drinks, a Modelo draft and a well vodka/soda/lime for $17 ! A bit pricey. Anyway, the place is different, gotta check it out...
