El Mambo Restaurant — Restaurant in Cape Coral

It's all good depending on who is working sometimes it feels like your bugging them and I hate it when places want to add gratuity after a certain amount or depending on how many people are at a table. I have been there on more than one occasion once they told me the register "automatically" does it for bills over 40 this last time they said over 50$.... so which is it they need to make up their mind, not to mention I didn't see it posted anywhere so customers know what to expect. As a former waitress myself I know that their basic cash register isn't programmed that way like POS systems that big food chains have so I know it isn't true. It is clear that the service is so subpar which is why they feel the need to add gratuity. I have no problem leaving a healthy tip if the service merits one it usually never does at this place so that is why I decided if I go there again it will most likely be takeout. FYI to them they only tacked on 15% for a tip on 50$ bill which came to 7 and change I usually tip a minimum of 25% anywhere I go but since they felt their service was only worth 15% I agreed with them and just...

Rice tasted/felt like it was old. Black beans tasted like Mexican black beans rather than Cuban. The chicken milanesa also tasted like it was old. Disappointed.. Add on: I had originally gave two stars, but now I'm bringing it down to one for their bad service. Not once did they come ask us if we needed anything else, like drinks or whatnot. once we were done eating, we waited about ten minutes, then each adult used the rest room and they sat down to eat. At first Mombos was delicious, but now we are very disappointed in the take out food. On two occasions my husband and ordered one, chicken soup. No chicken nor noodles were found. Second time as well. Also my husband ordered a cuban sandwich with disgusting mystery meat in the sandwich. I called the restaurant to complain but the person who answered the phone was very non chalant. Because I was so exhausted from worked I decided not to drive back to the restaurant. The second visit was just a bad. I returned because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
