I never write reviews but what happened when we checked in was atrocious. My husband and I are both 20. He is in the military, and we travel a lot to go see family. Per Holiday Inn policy (that I have double checked multiple times) it states that an ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY MEMBER can check into the hotel if they are under the age of 21 and have military id present. When we came into the hotel to check in, the lady at the front desk, Paige, did not allow us to check in because of our age. We explained that he was active duty and that we specifically used Holiday Inn because of the fact that they accommodated to the military. She continued to refuse us, and then proceeded to say that “Being in the military did not matter” which granted she was talking about our age at the time but it still rubbed us the wrong way. Then she finally got in touch with her manager who, I’m assuming, told her to check us in. I was willing to let that all go except for the fact that she continued to be rude towards us during the entire process of checking in. Once we finally got to our room, it reeked of pee. I have stayed at this specific hotel a few times in the past and I have never had a bad experience until tonight. When we asked to switch rooms because of the AWFUL smell, Paige told us “That’s because they’re pet rooms.” and then she said they had no other rooms available. My husband and I decided we were going to a different hotel and that we wanted a refund. As soon as we tried to get one, however, a different staff member came and took us to a different room (WHICH WAS AVAILABLE), one that did not reek of cat piss. I’m never one to complain, I understand how hard it is working in the service industry, but tonight was horrendous. We are never...
Read moreWhat a horrible disgusting experience! We stayed at this hotel for a little girl softball tournament. When we checked into our room, immediately we noticed a giant booger on the ceiling above the bed. It was large and clearly noticeable for the cleaning staff! Then we noticed that boogers were smeared on the headboard of the bed!
We notified the front desk of our findings and they asked if we wanted to switch rooms. Our daughter was upset because all the young girls were staying on the same floor with their teammates so we figured, If our room wasn't cleaned, why would any other rooms be any better! We asked if someone could just come clean this disgusting mess and we were told that the cleaning crew was gone for the day.
If this wasn't bad enough, later that evening when we returned from our team dinner. We noticed that on the floor of the shower, there were hairs, not head hairs - O's and 8"s if you know what I mean, left over by the previous tenant.
The next day, we left for our games thinking that our complaints to the staff would be rectified upon our return. The cleaning crew did come in and remove the giant booger from the ceiling, however, they did not remove the smeared mess from the headboard. That mess was less noticeable than the giant one on the ceiling but being a lot closer to our vicinity made that one worse!
I was willing to chalk this up as a horrible experience and not complain or write a review but the next morning after returning home from your hotel, my son wakes up with a 105 temperature and after a doctor visit, it was determined that he has the Flu. Obviously, I can't prove where he contracted the Flu but we can both make a pretty good guess due to the cleanliness of...
Read moreon entering the reception we were met by a very nice lady who recognized that we were silver class and accordingly offered a top floor room, The room was ok but the bed and pillows were very soft I awoke with a sore back most mornings. We had arrived late the first night after travelling all day so needed to go to bed next morning we went for a shower only to find that the bath towels were stained and dirty the rest were ok. Breakfast had a few choices of hot food but not as wide a range as most other holiday inns I have used. there was a daily offering of some time type of cheese omelet which was not very appetizing potatoes then pork sausages one day replaced by bacon the next then a variety of cold foods such as boiled eggs and yogurt. The whole breakfast room was serviced by a four section toaster which took a month to process the bread so there were lines waiting on its use. The ladies working there were very nice but failed to clean the floors between clients so there were bits of food lying at your feet on some mornings. The cleanliness of the rooms needed to be upgraded we never once had our room vacuumed in four days that we stayed one evening it was after nine before the cleaner arrived she came in and gave the bathroom a quick clean changed the towels and away my wife emptied the bins for her it looked as if she was over the top with work all in all not the best holiday inn on the books should maybe take them over to the one in Perth Scotland for a training session as my heading states a two star...
