Jungle Bird Tiki — Restaurant in Cape Coral

I hate writing this review. Jungle Bird was consistently one of my favorite places to eat in Lee, Collier and Charlotte county. Sadly, that is no longer the case. We loved to bring clients and guests here for the unique menu and great cocktails. It has been quite some time since our last visit but we’re super excited to bring our new clients and had mentioned some of our favorite menu items. We were all very excited and these were people that LOVE to eat.

We arrive and are immediately shocked there is no wait but it is out of season so I shrugged it off. The staff REALLY wanted us to sit outside for some reason. Idk what that was about but again shrugged it off and got one of the many open tables inside. Imagine our surprise when we get our menus only to see it has been reduced to a very small selection of extremely marginal dishes.

All of our favorite things to eat on the menu were gone. Not just a few ALL OF THEM. We decide to get the Elote dip and a cocktail anyway. Big mistake! Cocktails were okay but not the punchy, Tiki style we had become accustomed to. The Elote dip was an absolute joke! It tasted like it had been under the warmer for several hours. Super dry, monotone color and lackluster flavor. Even the water had a terrible taste. I would have rather had canal water. We left and went down the street to have dinner. It was embarrassing for myself and my wife.

So imagine hyping up your foody clients, sharing your favorite dishes, talking up the cocktails and receiving the experience we did. Complete disappointment. I’m hoping management reads this review and puts steps in place to return Jungle Bird to its former glory. Until then, I will steer people in the direction of more deserving locations in SWFL....

Decided to give this place a try on a recommendation. Place has a nice setup with a nice menu with good options. Drinks were reasonable. However, our good experience turned into a bad one when our server took our drink and food order which we ordered at the same time and upon bringing out the food, one of the items we ordered did not show up. Once we were able to get his attention, he stated they will be right out. The order was for jerk fries! Nothing special. We ordered three appetizers…that’s all. Not difficult. When the server was no where to be found we had to ask another waitress for our food. She promptly checked on it for us. The order came out and the wife and I finished our food. At no time during the meal did our original server come by the table to check on us to see if we needed anything else such as more drinks or even water. We had to ask the other waitress again where our server was and she wasn’t sure but she thinks he had some emergency happening with his girlfriend. We asked the other waitress to please get us our check as we were done with the place. We got our check and then our original server arrived and we asked him what happened. He stated all is good. Still at no time did he ask us if we needed anything else before checking out. Well we live in the Cape, try to support local businesses, but it really seems like lately the places we have been going to the service is horrible or maybe we have just gotten terrible servers. I will say the young lady who did help us with the check was really hustling and she was very attentive. Not sure if we will visit this...

Ok I’m puttin 5 all the way across the board on this 1 🤙🏻 Decided to eat here and man I’m glad I did!! 1 night wasn’t good enough I went back for the second night!!

First night just dabbled in a few things like the brussel sprouts with pork belly 🫣 oohhh man! Delish for sure worth a try comes with a little dipping sauce Second I tried the roasted corn guacamole with the wonton chips which were good as well. The wings were really crispy which I like and got some teriyaki n hot sauce on the side. Mixed them myself which was a good lil flavor.

Now night number 2!! Shout out to Tom and Faron!!! Those 2 guys were on top of it for sure I had got the brussel sprouts again cause they are fire! And we’re really good again.

Asked what I should try and Tom said ribeye let me tell you I hate the fat on any meat but this thing tasted so good I ate the fat and all meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the fat just melted in my mouth!! Kimchi was good had some spice which I like.

Now the dessert!! I asked Faron whatcha got and he mentioned a few things that didn’t stick til he said the oooey goooey butter cake! SOLD!! They beat it up per order and I got some ice cream with it and it was like a celebration in my mouth! I recommend it for sure!! I say give this place a try if you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed!! I will be back for sure in...
