I am a 33 yr old women that worked 4 wafflehouse for almost a year.I pay all my own bills rent food electric water and expected a fulltime job in which that was what I was hired for and promised the first couple of months were great we had an awesome manager training us Paige shes friendly understanding happy promised us all equal opportunity fulltime everything seemed great I was happy to come into what seemed like such a great cooperation as wafflehouse is very popular and I was sure they wanted to keep good hardworking honest dedicated employees. .well after about 6 months our manager changed all of a sudden a man scott who were told by employees who had been employed for several years hes out of jail now hes goin to run our store so ok we met him he seemed ok but after workin for him everything completely changed for the worse money was missing daily from our drawers I was constantly being accused n felt like so uncomfortable to be at work again it was talked about around the whole store by other employees that since i payed rent n i lived on my own that it was me lol come to find out after contact a higher manager it was looked into n it was scotts boss stealing Todd who was immediately fired ok so great they figured it out..so 4 once i cud breathe n was left alone n cud work well not for that long shortly after that my hours dropped from fulltine 7 hrs a day to all 5-9 shifts...thats 4 hrs I immediately told my boss scott that I wasnt makin it im behind on rent everyone else who didnt stay loyal n dedicated that went out n got another job had the 2-9 shifts which didnt make sense we were asked by scott to stay dedicated to just wafflehouse n to give our full attention to this job in which i did..i never called off once never once was late how cud this be happening to me ive put my heart n soul into this job after speakin w him nothing. Changed I was miserable they bring now another boss Hal in so I tried speakin to him about how unhappy n mistreated I was being theres too many things to list. But he promised to look into it after a week nothing changed my next weeks schedule was even worse so now i didnt have my rent paid and was already goin on to my next month being due i was screwed man i wish it wud a been me takin that money i sure cud of used it but thats not my style instead I thought my loyalty and perfect attendance would stand for something also putting my heart and soul for almost a year that I would have full-time as we were also promised we were going to be on first shift which is the busiest times and we weren't after Scott had come in we were promised that by Paige that's not what happened basically what happened with Scott shows and picked who he wanted on his first shift till people from different stores and brought them in which was not fair at all I have never worked for such an unfair. Company theres favortism. Ur attendance means nothing he goes by what other employees gossip about and does not come to you personally as a man Yea the foods good but thats about it.the management sucks workin for them was a complete waste you dont move up theres promised vacation pay after 6 months or a year whatever in which you DO NOT get! The customer service skills suck the ladies that I worked w Janice barely talks to her customers doesnt smile doesnt say hello but she had all the fulltime shift she was honored for her poor service and for not being loyal n going out n getting another job lol so thanks to my good customer service skills I had from being a waitress for 10+ years I did have many regulars..thanks to him im now running his office I work on salary and I am so much happier everyday I come home. He saw how dedicated I was how honest I was how I was there everyday on time even early as well as how loyal I was and finally its being acknowledged its all paying off now..we actually have dinner again I can cook dinner again everynight for me n my fiancĂ© đand talk about how good my day was instead of coming home in tears I dont recommend work here mayb for a young teenager whos in school...
Read moreWife really wanted to try the Waffle House as 1st time customers. I was leery based on mixed reviews, but we decided to give it a shot anyway. Food was very good, we thought the portions and prices were very fair, and I was actually surprised at the limited menu choices, however it was a balanced variety and not at all overwhelming. MOST of the staff was great (including Josh and Nikki) except for our server (whom I will not publicly name). She had very poor table side manner and attempted to take our order before we even had the opportunity to view the menu. Despite her lack of customer service, we tried to be overly polite to her, yet she never smiled, she was short and almost bordering rude. I attempted my beverage order and she simply stated we don't have that, without offering until being prompted for alternative choices. She would drop our food at the table and immediately walk away without saying a word or inquiring if anything else was needed, twice she walked away from empty beverage glasses very obviously placed on the edge of the table without proactively filling them until we specifically requested, and once we all had our food, she never returned until she delivered the tab. My Wife really wanted Tabasco for her eggs but we refused to ask because we were afraid the service would get worse. My 5 year old even stated "I don't think she likes us." Pretty obvious there's a problem when a 5 year old can understand lack of basic customer service and to top it all off, she was responsible for 2 tables when we were there (7 people). I have previously worked in the restaurant/hospitality industry so I know how that business works, your tips are a big portion of your wage, and I can confidently tell you I'm NOT the 1st or last customer to experience this level of disrespect from this server. We will visit the Waffle House again, just not this one and if we ever do, I will definitely ask for a different server. I left a 2 star rating that would easily have been a 4 or 5 had we not been stuck with this server (and contrary to possible assumptions she wasn't young). She turned a maiden voyage into a shipwreck and it's vitally important for businesses to monitor the level of customer service their employees provide (even though its hard for employers in this age to find people) they can either be part of the problem or solution. Sometimes it's better to scale back and roll with what you have than to continually employ an individual that drags an anchor and turn more business out that door than in it! This could have been a good experience, but instead it was a bad one because of our server which negated all of the good since we were never able to thank the cook that made...
Read moreLove the waffles, but the wait staff in both Cape Coral locations suck! The staff the one on DelPrado and 46th try but still need some polishing. The young man who usually sits people on the weekend needs to not do major cleaning while customers are eating. Last visit he was cleaning ceiling vents/tiles on a Saturday morning with the restaurant full. Don't think anyone would appreciate that stuff falling into their food. So I decided to try the one further north on DelPrado. When I walk in a waitress calls out for me to sit where ever I want, there's just 1 empty booth and all the chairs towards the end of the counter are upside down on the counter. This usually suggest the area is closed so I head to the booth. It's dirty, food and napkins on the floor and syrup on the table. I ask for someone to at least wipe off the table. As soon as I sit, my waitress appears, (an older woman, 50+)..pad in hand, "what can I get you"? Well... for starters..how about a menu?! She reaches over to the counter a places a menu sticky with syrup in front of me. Stands there while I look over the menu, I give her my order, peel the menu off the table and hand it back to her. The table is now sticky again! Another waitress wipes the table down again leaving it soaking wet. I give up on getting a properly cleaned table. My food arrives quickly, before the table dries, and my waitress puts it down and continues to walk away. Guess what! NO SILVERWARE, NO SYRUP !! As my food gets cold from the AC blowing full blast ( the condensation is just dripping down the windows), I try to get her attention. No luck so I actually go behind the counter where I noticed the silverware is stored and help myself to a set and Dear Lord a bottle covered in syrup. Now my waitress happens to be the person who rings me up and the look on her face when I didn't tip. I told her she was old enough to know how to give proper service and I shook my head as I walked away. Both Cape Coral Waffle Houses needs a training class for...
