cute little place inside of the indie house! non-crowded, reasonable pricing, and beautiful interior decor. make sure you check out the wall mural outside. el kolibri is located upstairs. if you walk to the right side, there is a room where you view the menu and order. to the left, there is a sitting room with couches, tables, and chairs, as well as a small shop. the shop carries vintage jewelry, knickknacks, and clothing. it's definitely worth taking a look inside, they have a lot of cool items. the menu at the café has various coffees, teas, and a few homemade food items. everything tastes amazing and is of high quality. i get a dirty chai latte. the barista and shop worker are always friendly and down for a chat. if you're new to the area or visiting, they'd be great people to get...

El Kolibri in Cape Girardeau is an absolute gem. During our Illinois-Mississippi trip, this little coffee shop turned out to be the highlight of our day. The barista, a true cultural ambassador for this little town (in our opinion), welcomed us warmly. We ordered lattes, and she shared her passion for coffee, explaining her dedication to sourcing the best beans. She introduced us to unique import syrups (consider vanilla to add a delightful twist to your drink). To top it off, we were treated to Mexican cinnamon cookies that were simply heavenly. We were in town for a softball tournament and I was thrilled to find this amazing coffee shop! The latte options were so unique and the barista was kind of enough to answer any questions I had and explain options to me. Added bonus- clean ingredients that don't have high fructose corn syrup, additives, or natural flavors. Although I only went for coffees, I also left with syrups and empanadas (which were delicious). I think this might be the best latte I've ever had (Mexican mocha) and everyone else I ordered for loved their drinks, too. Such friendly staff, cute establishment, and top-notch drinks!
