Green Papaya Thai Aptos — Restaurant in Capitola

Went to Green Papaya on Sunday, 7/27 for lunch with my daughter, a friend and her teen & toddler daughter.

The restaurant is cute & clean and the food was delicious & fresh.

I wanted to give the restaurant five stars but the service was horrible…there was only one other table seated after us and the waiter acted too busy to let us finish ordering and never came back to check on us to refill waters or ask how food was or see if we needed anything. I ended up going to refill our waters & to grab napkins…my daughter had to go to the kitchen to ask for rice since he raced off when she requested it mid-sentence.

If the poor service wasn’t bad enough, we were charged 20% large party gratuity which was absurd since we only ordered 4 meals for the 2 adults and 2 teens at the table…the toddler munched on food from our plates because she had eaten before we got to the restaurant.

The poor service was very disappointing and has me sad for the owners because the food was some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time.

I recommend ordering food to go with the caveat, that if you order curry, you must order rice because the dishes don’t include rice…it is considered a...

This newly opened Thai place is closer to our house than our usual place, which we have been disappointed with the last two times, so we went in. We ordered a few items to try the food and take the leftovers. We ordered the Fresh Spring Roles. And the order had four roles. They were exceptionally good. They came with peanut sauce and a sweet sauce. We also ordered the Seafood Salad. The salad was loaded with seafood and the dressing was light and refreshing. For dinner we ordered the Panang Curry, which was a little spicy, but very tasty and different. We usually get the green curry. We also ordered the Pad Thai, and it was good, and the Sauteed Vegetable Delights. The vegetables were sauteed perfectly and very tasty. The Green Papaya in Aptos Village dazzles the taste buds with exceptional food. The food is simply beautiful! You can taste the quality and freshness. Nothing standard here, these are true food artists. Very accommodating with special requests. Relaxing lovely ambiance with comfortable seating gives Green Papaya a cool vibe. The location is across from the Historical Bayview Hotel  Aptos Village which was built in 1878. It’s perfect for casual dining or a romantic date night. Excellent service from Jacob & crew. My highest recommendation
