First time visiting this cafe after a referral from a friend and listening to the podcast! Did not disappoint. Every detail from the first step into the cafe is intentional. Employees are personable, relaxed, friendly and lighthearted. Layout is spacious, aesthetically pleasing (both with color coordination and branding), comfortable. Many different seating options and an outlet at every chair. Ordered a cappuccino and the breakfast burrito. Well priced, high quality tasted in everything. My boyfriend thought the burrito was slightly sweet in a good way and thought there was brown sugar in it, but I’m pretty sure it was cumin cooked in the potatoes—either way, a homemade cooking touch. The store’s baked goods are sourced from manresa bread and look amazing. Matcha is in pure powder form, not a sugar-concentrate, and there is seasonal pumpkin spice as well to add to the traditional European coffee offerings (caffe au lait; flat white, etc.) From the easygoing and accommodating staff to the durable to-go cups, lids, and napkins, to the clever logo and branding, it’s easy to see how they’ve opened 3 stores within a few short years and I look forward to returning for study days whenever I’m back...
Read morethey sell their own brand of instant coffee. if you like pastels and brave birds venturing inside, you'll love it here. Aptos is hillbilly hip and happening! Cat and Cloud is across the street from where Terrible Herbst used to stand, adjacent to the old creepy Bayview Hotel, currently for sale and begging to be revived to its former glory. if ever a guest there, you should walk past to admire and marvel and drop in at Norma Jean's, whose coffee shop predates even the Starbuck's behind where Terrible Herbst loomed large. Cat and Cloud has another location on Portola Dr as well. the brews are bold and fresh and the grab-n-go burritos are especially epic with soyrizo and an extra green sauce. Norma Jean's horchata latte is a tasty twist. with freedom comes great responsibility! ...y'all come back now, y'hear? 😉🤠

Read moreVisited twice last weekend. Tried the drip(Dr. Congo) - solid roast. Bought a bag to try as a pourover.
Given the weather I thought it'd be good as a espresso tonic, so I tried to order one the second time. I was confidently handed mystery drip with a shot of mystery espresso poured in, and a 'would you like cream with that?'... my dude, that's a redeye, not an espresso tonic.
I left with the drink anyways because the server seemed genuinely clueless as to what an espresso tonic was, and since I was curious as to how the redeye would taste. Juicy mouthfeel, extremely bitter and roasty, with strong acidity that hits you before leaving a nasty bitter aftertaste and your mouth and throat feeling highly astringent. 10/10 would recommend if you need something to keep you awake.
Overall mixed feelings about that experience, but the customer service was great, and I'm enjoying the bag...
