I hadn't had crab legs for a few years so my mother decided to take me here for my birthday. It was terrible. The "salad bar" was free but consisted of only one large bowl of old lettuce that was old and was turning brown, a little bit of shredded cheese in a 2nd bowl, and 2 or 3 different kinds of dressing in bottles. That was the salad bar... Then it took over half a hour before anyone even took our order. I ordered the crab, my mother an Alfredo pasta (they were out of chicken and steaks so it was only noodles and sauce) plus they were out of bread for garlic bread. But they couldn't have made it anyway because they were out of butter, too. It took over an hour to get food. A few other people came in after us and most ordered off the menu and if they had it they got served before us. The waitress kept saying "yours is almost finished" every time she passed us or we tried to stop her to see what was gong on. My mother's small serving of pasta was put in a metal pie pan. My crab legs were coated in some mystery sauce. They werent fresh my any means-shells so soggy the bent average instead of snapped... and if took another hour to get a second serving even though it was "all u can eat". When she brought the 2nd set of crab legs she asked.me if i was going to want anymore or not cause she wasnt sure of they were going to have any more. The sides were a baked potato half the size of a baseball and a shriveled up old ear of corn. Plain. Because there was no butter. On crab night... It was the worst dining experience in my life. Oh, and upon going to the bathroom I found there wasn't any running water. The knobs had been taken off the faucets and toilets weren't really flushing. How they were cleaning or doing dishes il...
Read moreI first want to say that I’m so sorry for not making a review sooner, I could’ve sworn I did. Anywho…. I’ve had SauSea’s multiple times now, and every experience has been a full 10/10, an 11/10 actually!
Their boils? Amazing! The best I’ve ever had. An explosion of flavor, the seafood is always fresh and the owner is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. I’m also a fan of the crab garlic bread and salad that I got complimentary.
Tonight, I went there pretty late at night. They were closing early, and my heart was broken, but the owner was so kind and offered to make us food anyway. I feel so guilty for making the crew stay late, but I’m kinda glad I did, because I now have a new thing to obsess over: fried catfish!
I’ve had a lottttt of fried catfish in my life from many different places, but SauSea’s, by far, has THE best catfish I’ve ever had. So seasoned, so light and crispy, so fresh… especially considering they stayed late for us, for it to be that good…just wow! The sweet potato fries and the sauce were also awesome, btw. But I will have to keep coming back again and again for that fried catfish! Went great with the sauce, but was also phenomenal without.
Not to mention, it’s always super nice and clean inside, the atmosphere has always been pleasant too. SauSea’s...
Read moreThe food was ok, but the buffet items weren’t exactly kept hot, AND NO accommodations for kids? I understand if you just opened, but no high chairs for kids after being open for over 6 months? Come on. That’s the mildest complaint I have. I’m sorry, but if you can’t handle all you can eat crab legs after advertising for it, just stop. I sat for at least an hour waiting for my second refill. Never got it. My boyfriend only got his by mistake after someone else walked out. The worst part about it is my 4 yo was complaining about having to eat cold pizza that had been sitting on your buffet top for who knows how long. We tried to order him fries or something else that would be hot, but that never came. I wish you all well, but we were very disappointed in our experience. We could go to Red Lobster right now and get all you can eat shrimp for $25 a person. Don’t mind paying $45 for crab legs and a buffet once in a while, but I’d at least like a second refill of skimpy crab legs if I’m...
