My time spent inside "Crust" was less than 5 minutes. I simply picked up a pizza to go. I inhaled the environment of "Crust" in those few minutes.
The 5 stars I gave was 95 percent for the pizza and 5 percent for my short experience inside and over the phone ordering.
If your a serious pizza lover that appreciates quality and taste, this place is top tier for you. Traveling often for business I get around the US and can tell you "Crust" is in the top 10 percent. (Been to NY and Chicago, interesting enough, and never had time to get pizza)
I created my own pizza. I had a 10" pizza with Artisan crust (regular), Wisconsin mozzarella cheese, Portobello mushrooms, black olives and onions. My total was 14.85 and that was for two people. No complaints, your getting quality. First and final opinion is this place has great pizza. The only local pizza equal is "Marco's" in Vista, CA.
I will come here again, and I live in San Marcos 6 miles away.
The environment inside made me think i was inside"Chipotle" with servers and a bar added. That is not saying a bad thing. I am just describing the inside as best I can. Wide beer and wine selection. I interacted with three employees and they were all friendly. Others will probably disagree, but I PERSONALLY would not go there with a group bigger than 6. Customer service over the phone for the order was great. Plenty of parking.
Pizzaholic tourists getting the "shakes" should definitely go here if in...
ย ย ย Read moreIt just gets better & better. I started eating here shortly after it's opening about a year ago and was wowed by it's amazing pizza, the best I've had anywhere. Well, that continues to be true and it doesn't stop there. I fell in love with the spicy meatballs, the roasted artichoke appetizer, the spaghetti & meatballs and their host of lunch & dinner salads, all available with steak, chicken or my favorite, the new spicy blackened chicken.
Once again they've stepped up their game, adding amazing daily homemade soups and my absolute favorite ever salad, their "wedge". It's a classic, with iceberg lettuce wedges (yes, plural...read HUGE), bacon, cherry tomatoes and a heavenly blue cheese dressing oozing around like white liquid gold. I top it with the blackened chicken and love it! It's way too big but it doesn't stop me from eating the WHOLE thing, good thing I usually have a pal along to roll me out!
They also have a nice selection of craft beers and great wine at reasonable prices, all served by a young, cheerful & attractive staff. So I only have two questions:
Can it get any better? Why are you reading this when you could be there eating?
Now I've done it....I'm gettin' in my car and...

Well, do you also remember how sweet it was to โcheatโ and scrape together enough loose change (and likely at least a little lint ๐) so that you could splurge on a pizza somewhere near campus? Well @crustpizzeriacarlsbad brings me right back to that point in my life. Their pizza offers a splendid combo of fresh ingredients and grease. Yes, grease. Some of you know exactly what Iโm talking about. The addition of pepperoni on a pizza requires a minimum amount of grease in order for it to be deemed legit. But donโt worry, itโs the kind of grease thatโs good for you. Just like having โgood cholesterolโ, or when something is โawful goodโ, or when you experience a โdeafening silence.โ Tip to the wise: donโt leave this place without experiencing some road rash. Relax people, โRoad Rashโ is a dessert option here whoโs DNA allegedly traces its roots back to the famed marriage of a churro and a beneigh (not true). Now if I could just manage to payoff my student loans. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
And thatโsโฆHenryโs...
