Delicious food and a bright cheery atmosphere! Overall, it was not only tasty but a refreshing new take on the restaurant serving Indian cuisine.
I chose the chicken Vindaloo (a pleasantly spicy option... but they have non spicy choices as well) and it was fresh and full of flavor. Along with that I enjoyed one of their mango lassi (sort of like a mango yoghurt smoothy) and it was also freshly made and oh so tasty (it was a super big hit with the kids lol). Definitely don't pass those up!
One other thing that made Fresh Indian Grill unique and a must visit was their iced tea. I just chanced to try it while I was there and was in for a very pleasant surprise... it tasted like an iced masala chai (spiced tea)! It was just the perfect refreshment for the hot day that it was :-) I may be going back just for that tea lol It's definitely unique and a must try.
Also... that naan... mmmh ok I'll stop there haha. It's safe to say every aspect of the meal was delicious.
To top off the experience, we had the chance to chat briefly with the owner while we were there. His excitement and passion were inspiring and shine through in all the details of Fresh...
Read moreDidn't seem fresh and no flavor at all. Amber Indian's is way way better. Ordered chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken and chicken wings. The tikka masala rice was good and cooked well, the actual tikka masala seemed weird. Wasn't creamy enough or something, the flavor wasn't that good and as I was eating it I realized they never asked me what sort of spice level I'd like it at- hence it was totally bland. The chicken seems like it was cubed up and it didn't have the best texture, disappointing. If you compare it to Amber Indians tikka masala down the street you will be blown away. Ambers is so much better it literally prompted me to write this review. The tandoori chicken and chicken wings were also a big disappointment, they were 1st barely warm and 2nd they had no flavor at all. It was actually shocking how little flavor they had considering the red color, etc. I regret the 20% tip I left them when checking out for carryout- at least the workers seemed very polite and nice. Which reminds me, the service at Amber Indian is very very good and prompt - also very...
Read moreI usually don't write negative reviews. But the food is just so bad... Its tasteless, disappointing and overpriced! The dahi puri which they apparently call as 'kachori' was a joke! In the puri was literally only dahi and sweet chutney. No fillings whatsoever, topped with meagre sev. I'm attaching a photo. Then we had the aloo tikki, i had lost interest and motivation to take pictures of the food at this point. Save your money, there are many better Indian restaurants in Carmel. I had to go to a different just to change my taste. In indian culture, we always respect food, and never throw it away... But we had to really trash the food we ordered... As we really couldn't have it anymore. When we were asked how we found everything, my husband said good because he is a very good hearted person and hates to say somety otherwise. Its difficut yes, but the true review and experience needs to be expressed otherwise management would never know that the customers leave disaatisfied never to return again :( I really had better expectations...
