Had heard about this place and wanted to try something different. It's a part of a strip to the west of Meijer in Carmel. I had read reviews online saw that several pushed ordering online for carry-out, which a number of folks seemed to be doing. However because it was my family's first time visiting, we wanted to see things in person before placing our order. They do offer some tables for eating on a patio just outside of the front door, but we chose to dine inside to get a better feel for things and refer back to the menu as we ate.
First thing I will note is that it isn't obvious where to go when you enter, but eventually we saw a sign that was sort of hidden on the wall to the right indicating to start on that side. It does have the Subway approach to ordering as several places have started doing. The menu behind the lineup of employees is electronic and displays the steps for ordering as well as items that are a part of each step. I had seen reviews knocking an employee as being rude, but our experience was pleasant and efficient.
My wife ordered the Veggie Plate [10.95] to get an assortment of options in that category. My son went with a Pick 2 Plate [11.95] with steak and chicken that seemed to be a pretty large portion of food. They both enjoyed their food, but said they would try other options on future visits to further explore the menu. I chose the Falafel Baba Ghanoush (a spread made from eggplant, tahini, and garlic) Bowl [9.15] and added onions, tabouli, hummus, and garlic sauce. Because of some reviews I had read, I chose to try their 2 spicy sauce options (S'Khug - green hot sauce; Harissa - red hot sauce) on the side. I am glad I did. I generally like spicy, but they aren't messing around with either of these, and the red seemed to kick it up a notch from the green. In retrospect, my dish was a bit over the top on the garlic, which I will chalk up to my ignorance in selection as opposed to their preparation. The highlights of the order were the Falafel, which I thought tasted great and are hard to come by around here, and the complimentary pita they offer and I believe make from scratch daily. We also shared a side of Naf Fries [$3.15], which my son loved but my wife and I probably would have preferred to toss in the air fryer at home to let them cook a bit longer.
Overall, it's something different from the usual that we all enjoyed. Don't know that it's something I would crave, but I do hope they do a good business because I like having them around as an option for a...
Read moretl;dr great food, great experience, first time customer and they walked me through ordering and it was easy to understand, and I'm Going Back!
My first time here, Most definitely not my last time here. I told them it was my first time and they took the time to walk me through how to make your meal. You start by choosing a bowl or a pita there was two choices for the bowl but I chose a pita. You then pick your protein and they do have a vegetarian option of putting falafel in. They then walk you through a small set of toppings where they have a couple of mixtures and then some onions pickles parsley and tomatoes and then after you pick that you get to pick a sauce and they've got four sauces and two of them are spicy and one is listed as very spicy, but I have not tried that yet.
I chose the chicken option for protein and loaded up through all the toppings in the sauce and it ran me about $9 for that pita sandwich, and it was worth every penny. I even bought a piece of baklava to try afterwards and haven't eaten it yet because I'm so full.
I'll update this after I have the baklava, but as I said at the start, I'm going back. It was simply amazing, easy to order, and they walked me through it happily and it was easy...
Read moreI had ordered from naf naf grill on November 12th, order number 936069307 my falafel bowl had no falafel and was full of chicken. I'm a vegetarian and this is not okay. I had picked up the order and left to meet a friend in a different city. When I called I was asked to come back to get another bowl. I explained that it was way past lunch that now I had missed and I was in a city an hour and a half away. The entire conversation was basically rude while I should have been the one angry. It's not even about refund at this point when someone is vegetarian, what if I had taken a bite? None the less, having an online account this should have been easy but they said they can't refund me through the account. Then they took down my address and said they will send me the coupons. The female I talked to was a trainee or something and did not understand a word I was saying, kept relaying to another guy who told her what to tell me. The guy (john) finally gets on call, yells at me and tells me keep an eye out for coupons and hangs up. It's 10 days and I haven't received any coupon I loved naf naf grill in chicago and I was so thrilled that they are in Carmel now. I told all my indy friends to.go try but my first order from here...
