Indie Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Carmel

Pro tip: there’s a parking lot (and accessible entrance) behind the building. This is a wonderful addition to the Carmel coffee scene! Located at the new North End development, Indie Coffee Roasters and Le Petit Gateau share a lovely space. There are many different seating areas to socialize, work, and relax. The coffee is fantastic and the baristas are welcoming.

Their menu is more of a curated selections list. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, be sure to ask. My order is a mocha, which is not on their menu but they can readily make.

Do not come here unless you have 25-30 mins to wait AFTER waiting to order 1 single drink. Ridiculous considering I ordered a small iced tea. You’ll have quicker and better service going to a sit down restaurant that serves food too. After many visits to more than 1 of the Indie locations it is definitely the slowest coffee shop in terms of service. It is unrealistic to expect customers to wait this long for drinks and I don’t care how craft or “quality” these drinks are it’s not worth waiting for. Sadly, I will not be returning...

Indie Coffee Roasters makes quality espresso drinks. Their seasonal rotations are some of my favorite options for a latte in Carmel and the baristas are happy to answer any questions about the menu. They also don’t bloat drinks with extra milk and syrup just to sell a larger beverage. I always know I’m going to receive a well-balanced latte here.

However, this location is quite noisy and not a great atmosphere for studying/work, if that is what you are...
