Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Carmel

The food is great, and the smoothies are by far our favorite against competition like smoothie king, BUT unfortunately I've been to the Carmel location 3 times, and the westfield location 3 times, and I've never gotten my food correctly.

Typically it's the wrong chips, or a topping I asked to be withheld, but right now I'm sitting in the store as I have been for 20 minutes (with no line, they are not busy inside or out), waiting for their 3rd attempt to get my meal correctly.

First I got smoothies and no food, and it took about 5 minutes for anyone to even address me at the counter, then they brought out the first meal of two and said the second was on the way, but the item they brought was not either of the one's I had ordered.

Now here I am 10 minutes later and I still dont have my food.

EDIT: Finally got the food after waiting an eternity, and I should've checked it but I just wanted to go home. They screwed it up again and put Tomatoes on it, and the receipt that she took from me specifically said no tomatoes.

EDIT 2: Also, the second food item I got was again not either of the things I had ordered. Instead of their special item, the grilled chicken parm, I got a chicken salad. I'm driving back to the store for my 5th attempt to just get the food that I ordered.

I used to make 100-200+ pizzas an hour with various toppings when I worked at Mad Mushroom, and I know from personal experience... there's no...

I have been to this location a few times, and it just isn't up to par with the other locations I've visited. The food and service are not what I expect from Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Both times, my food has been missing ingredients and didn't seem to be made with any care. Somehow the couple smoothies I've gotten there were also clearly missing ingredients or something because it tastes nothing like the smoothie I usually get at the Michigan Road location... and this is the ONLY smoothie I've ever even tried at a Tropical Smoothie so best believe I know what it is supposed to taste like! From now on, I will most definitely be driving further to a location that knows what they're doing. Listen when you read all the bad reviews. They are more than accurate. I'm in the service industry myself, so I'm not one to dog on service unless it's horrible, and this place isn't horrible service, it just lacks the conversation you should have with your guests. Nobody was unfriendly, but I never heard a "hey, how's it going"? Or "we will get that going for you", "that will be out shortly", "thank you", etc. Not a word. Will 100% never be returning to this location no matter what. I'd rather drive 7 miles instead of 2 to get GOOD...

I go to this location all the time to get island greens for my mother, who is very sick. Anytime we add protein they usually will give me what’s left over because it makes extra that will be thrown into the trash anyways. Today when I asked for extra cups, the guy taking my order got very argumentative with me and told me it did not make extra, and I had to explain to him that I come here almost every day, and it does make extra. He said no it doesn’t and I said yes it does. Went back and forth about 5 times. He finally said that they are not supposed to do that and I said well how about next time don’t be so argumentative with your customers and pretty much lie to their faces. When he put my order, and he would immediately over to the young girl, making smoothies and whisper, something to her about making mine. I did get the extra that I asked for, but it was about 2 ounces. Not sure what changes he made to try to prove his point but I can tell you I don’t taste any protein in it really. It was a very odd experience. It was also very uncomfortable, and I will not be going back to this...
