I must say that my experience here at this Popeyes, (off Joppa Rd in Baltimore, MD), has been wonderful. I do not usually eat fast food of any type, (Popeyes is my only-- very, very occasional-- exception). But today I found myself over an hour from home, very hungry, and chicken & mashed potatoes just sounded lovely. So I decided to stop here on my way home. I've never been to this specific location/branch.
At first, I ran into the bathroom, (long car ride, lol!). It was very clean, everything worked properly, and the air freshener smelled so good. (Note: I am an aromatherapist who gets headaches. I usually cannot stand any air fresheners or synthetic fragrances of any type.) But it was just a slight scent of spices like ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. Lovely.
Afterward, I walked to the front counter to order. I took my time looking at the menu, (not blocking anyone else or holding up the line), and nobody pressured me to hurry up at all. In fact, they smiled and asked if I had any questions. There was almost no line; the wait was all of 1 minute. I stepped up to order, and it all went smoothly. My change was correct. They didn't mind that I added an order of Mac n cheese at the last minute. I stepped to the side to put my change in my purse while they got the food ready. By the time my money was put away, they were handing me my bag of food! I'd forgotten to ask, but they stopped me and asked if I wanted any sauce & pointed out where the straws were located for my drink.
I thanked them and walked over to take a seat in the dining room. The tables were clean, the overhead music was playing low, the lights were comfortable and yellowish, (not fluorescent, which tend to give me headaches).
The food was hot, the order correct, and it all tasted delicious. They'd put napkins in my bag without my asking for them. The receipt was there and correct. I had chicken nuggets w/honey mustard, mashed potatoes w/gravy, Mac n' cheese, a biscuit, lemonade to drink, and a cinnamon apple pie for dessert. It was all great. The nuggets were perfectly cooked, huge chunks of meat w/some breading, (I've had them at other places where they were 95% breading), it was all obviously fresh, only heated the once, (yet still warm), the portions filling up their containers. The gravy had spices & little chunks of meat in it. The biscuit was soft and warm. The Mac n cheese had real cheese baked on top, (worth the extra cost).
The employees were all friendly, helpful, patient, and smiling. I have no complaints. I must say that I am very impressed with this Popeyes branch. Hopefully they are always this wonderful. Based on my experience this evening, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves chicken and is in too much of a hurry for a long...
Read moreI came to this Popeye’s with two friends of mine to try the new sandwich. I ordered a classic sandwich without the mayonnaise and pickles, along with a biscuit and a bottled water; the cashier seemed fairly confused throughout my ordering experience asking me to repeat most of my order over and over again, and I didn’t receive my sandwich for over 10 minutes, only for it to be a spicy one instead of the classic sandwich I ordered. The replacement sandwich came fairly quick, but the biscuit and bottled water I ordered both didn’t come out for at least another several minutes. They told me they were baking more biscuits; I watched them bring a tray of biscuits out, and they were served to several other orders for several minutes. Finally, I showed them my receipt and still ended up waiting at least another minute until finally getting them. Another customer near me didn’t get their biscuits either, and ended up telling the kitchen to cancel it. When I eventually got the biscuit I ordered, it was slightly undercooked. My friend also wanted some extra mayonnaise for her sandwich, only to be told they won’t serve mayonnaise on the side. Overall, not the best experience. The only extra star is because the sandwich was very good, once it was made right, but I spent most of the time at the counter waiting for my order or having it corrected, instead of sitting down with my friends who I was visiting at Towson. Don’t think I’ll return to...
Read moreAbsolutely worst fast food experience. It's late and I have a long drive ahead. Since it's late I understand that it's limited staff and the wait will be long. I sat 25 mins in total until I got my food. Supplies were low.... again, I understand. BUT I can only give so many chances. After not receiving a receipt and finally getting a small meal. I began to realize the food I received was not prepared right. First I ate some fries and then realize it had a shimp in mixed with the fries. I am allergic to shellfish!!!!!! Lucky I was able to spit it out instead of swallowing. I still had just enough for a mild reaction. And so that was a huge waste of money and had to tross the fries. I went to clear my mouth with my drink, absolutely horrible warm soda... and I'm like okay, this can't be all of the food Maybe the chicken sandwich okay. Wrong the food was absolutely cold to being under cook. I was so upset it was pointless to even go back! Clearly the manager doesn't check in on staff who is helping the drive thru and food pre just absolutely upsetting, I wasted money for nothing. yes it's like 6 bucks, but 25+ almost eating something that could have made me go to the hospital. As a Google reviewer don't go there at night and for the manager, help your staff and ensure they have supplies and MOST OF ALL DONT MIX SHELLFISH AND OTHER...
