Cherry Blossom Sushi — Restaurant in Carolina Beach

The last review must be someone who has impossible standards, because this is THE BEST sushi I've EVER had (and every review but the single sour individual can attest to that)!! I've had my share of sushi from many, many places in several states, but this is by far the freshest and most flavorful of them all. I love the way the plates are put together, even only being takeout. But don't let that fool you!! My boyfriend and I have come by at least once a week since we've found this lil place, sometimes we just can't get out of our heads and we need more! Nikki's sushi is subpar in comparison, and I was unabashedly obsessed with them for years!

The owners- husband and wife- are some of the most genuinely happy and kind folk I've ever met and we just absolutely love talking to them every time we come in. Thank yall so much for making our food with so much love and treating us with more southern hospitality than any other place on the island! Stay blessed. 🙌

It is not great. I really wanted it be good. Apparently there's no good sushi on the island. This could have been amazing. The fish was extremely fresh and the rolls were artistically made. But why, oh why, do they make everything so incredibly sweet?? I know the sticky rice for sushi needs a little bit of sugar, but mostly it's the rice wine vinegar that makes it sticky. This rice tastes like breakfast cereal, it's so sweet. And then the yum yum sauce is teeming with sugar too. So our crispy tempura shrimp tasted more like a dessert than dinner. Nothing we did to it could fix. And we had 2 orders of this. Ate a few bites and we couldn't eat anymore. A LOT of wasted money and food (see picture -- this is what we couldn't eat). And then the "spicy" rolls were mild! Not the least bit spicy. Truly disappointed. I guess we'll have to go OTB to...

Cherry Blossom Sushi is a must-visit in Carolina Beach! Easily the best sushi this side of the Mississippi. The owners are incredible—super friendly and committed to serving the highest quality food in town. A little insider tip: call your order in instead of using online platforms like DoorDash, which tack on an extra 30% in fees. Save money and support the restaurant directly!

The prices are very reasonable, the ingredients are top-notch, and with service this good, I always love tipping well. Absolutely worth every bite. We always come back for more!
