Crush and Grind — Restaurant in Carolina Beach

As a Carolina Beach local, this place is hands down my favorite go-to for coffee, impeccable service, craft brews and wine. While the menu is top-notch, one of my favorite perks is the staff. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know each of them and everyone is super friendly and willing to go out of their way to provide the ultimate service. I also like to bring my work laptop here to get out of the house….(WiFi has never failed me). At first glance, it’s a small shop with just a few tables, but the hidden gem aspect of this business is the covered upstairs patio that boasts plants, surround sound music and an aerial view of the business district in CB. To top it off, there is a swanky lounge upstairs that is air conditioned with comfortable seating. Cannot recommend this place enough. Honestly, great coffee, good vibes, fantastic experience all around. We went on a busy Saturday morning and the line was practically out the door - we walked in to a greeting from the person at the counter, a shouted ‘to those of you all the way in the back, welcome and good morning’ - nice and cheery. We made our way through the line and it moved pretty quickly for only being 2 people working, but they still apologized several times for the wait and thanked us for our patience. We got 5 separate coffees all on separate transactions and each one was made and handed to us with care. When I got my Americano, the person who made it asked about my ice preference and happily added some more flavor syrup when I asked, I was floored at how well they took care of us. I mean you could go to Starbucks but you would miss on on actual GREAT COFFEE.

It truly makes a difference to have a barista that knows coffee 🤌🏻. Oh, and the coffee? THE COFFEE is perfect every time… and they sell it by the bag as well.

As for the shop itself, it has a selection of merch that is really cool! The vibe is everything you would hope a small coffee shop would be and the prices are fair. There is also seating upstairs which is really cool.

As if this place were made specifically for me, they also have coolers with craft beer that you can buy, individually priced so that you can sample and don’t get stuck drinking the same thing you may or may not like.

10/10 will be going here every day for the rest of our trip. My only regret? That we didn’t find it...
