Good tasting seafood. NOTE that after NOV 1 (off season) you can park on the street for free. Otherwise you will pay $17 to park for 2 hours in the nearby public parking lot which is nearest the restaurant. We went for lunch on a Saturday and got there as it just opened at 1130 - not busy. Good service, great sweet tea, and plenty of TVs on sporting events if you want to watch a game. We started off with the onion ring appetizer which was great. These are fresh hand cut and battered, not the standard industrialized ones you get most places. If you dont come for anything else - get the rings. Lots of variety on the menu but they do not stray too far from seafood which you would expect with the ocean waves lapping in just outside. I got the fried platter with flounder, fries, cole slaw, hushpuppies, and it came with half a cob of corn - a nice touch, all done well. It was so much I had to get a box to take some home. My wife got a nice salad topped with shrimp - also nice with fresh ingredients. They have frog legs on the menu if you want to give them a try but also crab legs, sandwiches, chicken, beef, and a vegetable plate. Very pleased with the food and the service. I would say that the prices are a smidgen higher than inland seafood places, but it is "at the beach" and we enjoyed the visit. Lots of little shops around if you want to linger and browse and...

Really nice staff. Initially thought we’d sit outside so they cleared us a table from a couple who had just left; however after being seated only a few minutes we decided inside would be better due to the humidity. It was early still so the place was mostly empty inside and they had no issue accommodating us. Somehow the kitchen mistook an order of chicken Florentine for chicken fingers but I went with it. The fingers were crisp but tasty. Wife’s hamburger steak was delicious and perfectly juicy. Cooked well done as requested but not charred in the least. It melted in the mouth and hours later I’m still salivating thinking about it. Kids wolfed down their burgers without complaint so I assume they were delicious too. The manager checked on us and recommended a new place for ice cream. Very friendly people so I’m giving them five stars despite the...

Local to the area, decided to eat lunch there yesterday. I'm not sure if they always run with one cook and one bar tender / server. We walked in when it was almost empty and were greeted with "seat yourself, it's only me, and the cook,". That was fine with us because it was just us and two other tables, and two at the bar. It started to get busy, and the bar tender / server had no problem sharing her frustrations with everyone, including stating a couple of times, "let her fire me,". Maybe this is acceptable in that type of establishment, being it is also a bar at the beach, but there were children inside, and it was a little uncomfortable to watch and hear. The food was excellent, and I did not feel as if we had waited too...

We ate a lot of seafood during our anniversary trip to Carolina Beach but Saltys was the best! We werent sure we were at the right place and two older men outside on the bench seemed to notice and yelled "go ahead and go in! The food is great!" That's always a good sign. Turns out we were at the right place. No frills but plenty of chills. Had a few beverages while I waited on my catfish ans my wife waited on her crab legs. Wow! Big portions, delicious, and some great down south friendliness and service. A hotspot for locals with plenty of regulars and you can see why. We will definitely be back when we come and visit the area. It's establishments like this that make the Carolina Beach boardwalk a special place.

Hands down the best crab legs and shrimp I've had on this side of the globe.. considering COVID and the off season these were still incredibly fresh and absolutely cooked to perfection. Aside from the food the atmosphere is outstanding, the server/bartender was very attentive and super friendly. After eating dinner there we felt just like family. If you are anything like me and love to find the small town gems in a town instead of going to a chain restaurant this is absolutely the place to go! This is now on my must visit list any time I come back to the area.

Great local hole in the wall restaurant on the Carolina Beach boardwalk. The service was great, and the food was even better. They serve canned beer and liquor, among other drinks. We had the chicken wings, which were fresh(not like they had been in a freezer)and the Salty's steam pot.(crab legs, shrimp, mahi, clams, corn, sausage)The crab legs were huge. All the seafood was fresh, not fishy. It also came with cole slaw, hushpuppies, and fries. There was so much food leftover we are making another dinner out of it.
