Granny's Country Kitchen (Carolina Beach) — Restaurant in Carolina Beach

I am a local on the island (6 yrs) and tried Granny's Country Kitchen for the first time today. Food was alright to pretty good. French toast club sandwich was very good. Service left something to be desired (spilled coffee when sitting cup down with no acknowlegment or offer of additional napkins when we cleaned it up, offer of coffee refill after a very long time of empty cup, no friendly greeting). Displaced electrical outlet box on wall with wires showing was concerning. Damp towel used to wipe tables was never washed or dipped in a disinfecting solution for the entire time we were there and was thrown on the counter where takeout orders and menus were kept when not in use. We ate inside which was cramped, hot, and very noisy. Bell on door is very loud and piercing and didn't seem to matter to employees so no reason to have it. Food was on the expensive side...

I have to say, I was extremely impressed. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the food was absolutely to die for! My coworker and I both got the bacon chili cheeseburger, and I must say it tasted like Pure Freedom! My soul felt like an eagle soaring through the air majestically after one bite. The next bike was just as good as the next! The fries oh, let's just say them are some good taters! The food literally was so good I started to tear up. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures because I was too busy stuffing my face with a freedom Burger. Slight disclaimer it's not called a freedom Burger, they call it the Carolina Burger. Breakfast is served all day and if I lived in Wilmington I would be going there every day for lunch! Stop in and sit a spell you will...

Had breakfast today, so dissapointed..... After the waitress took our order, we waited and waited....Table after us served first. Waiting, finally breakfast comes, I asked waitress for butter and ketchup, she mumbled some words, not audible.... Waiting for the condiments, NOthing so I went to another table to get ketchup and butter.....Several waitstaff including the women who runs the place were all over asking patrons if they needed anything, We were Not approached, We would have enjoyed more water and coffee......Nothing......Finally I walked out in disgust, my husband payed the bill... The food was questionable, my scrambled eggs had a vinegar taste, both myself and husband had stomach issues after eating this breakfast.....Sorry to say will Not return......Wait...
