It is difficult to write this review because I had such high hopes because of what I heard about this restaurant. First the wait staff is fantastic very friendly and on the ball the restaurant is clean the atmosphere is light and fun which is why I gave it two stars. Here's where they messed up we went in sat down inside and ordered our meals it took a moment close to 30 or 40 minutes for the first meal to come out which was my friends and I had only ordered wings which is their specialty and what their famous for I asked the waitress after 10 minutes of waiting where my food was she went into the kitchen and notified them that they apparently forgot someone's meal another 10 or 15 minutes went by I asked the waitress again and she went back a second time during this time other people's hot wings were coming out so it was very clear and very obvious that the kitchen completely forgot or ignored the order or ignored the waitresses asking them to fix this and to make the order now at this time my friend has been not only served his food but is completed his meal and it is close to 30 minutes till my food shows up on the table waitress was apologetic and again this was not on her. I used to own restaurants and I'm a business owner the manager was nowhere to be found and no one even made the attempt other than the waitress to apologize for the screw up they didn't adjust the check we paid full price didn't even offer us any compensation for forgetting to make our my meal. As I was eating my meal at this point I was just over it and the wings instead of being spectacular we're below average or average at best so I ended up paying top dollar for wings that I didn't even want to eat anymore and the worst part was an hour after I left the restaurant I actually had to go and get something to eat because I was still hungry because I couldn't eat the meal after waiting so long and it just not being good. The only one on the ball here was the waitress the kitchen dropped the ball the manager dropped the ball and the worst part is my apartment that I just moved into today is only two doors away from this restaurant and I was really hoping to be able to hang out there and eat often I am still debating whether or not I'm going to give them a second chance...
Read moreSpecialty in whole chicken wings "Boricua" style, not "american" style buffalo wings. Small, off-the-street shack with good atmosphere, music and tv's inside the restaurant. It is first come, first served, meaning "if you see an open table you can go and take it"... they have 3 different dipping sauces for the wings, but the wings really don't need them. Wings can be served with fried plantains (tostones), fried breadfruit (tostones de pana), french fries or "mofongo". There are plenty other food items on the menu but why come to a "chicken wing place" to eat something else? Lol The food alone is worthy of 5 stars, however I took one star off due to sometimes having slow service. If you are relaxed and don't mind waiting 15 min more than what you expected for your wings, then you will enjoy your time and food here. // Alitas al estilo boricua, no Americano. Ambiente de chinchorro con musica y tv's dentro del local. "First come, first served"... o sea, si ves la mesa vacía entra y siéntate.
Read moreWaiting time to get a table was about 20 minutes. Once seated, didn’t get a waiter until I asked for one 5 minutes after being seated. I wanted to order from their menu but the waitress told me all was delayed and the food was going to probably take about 50 minutes. So I decided to go with appetizers and their specialty, alitas boricuas. Had a chicken broth, an octopus turnover and a 5 piece alitas with french fries. Broth was just ok, the turnover is regular in size and had a very small portion of octopus (they are about $4 each) nothing special. Their specialty, alitas boricuas, not boricuas at all! A total disappointment, very bland, tasteless, not crispy... fries where soft, tasteless, they served them unsalted and also disappointing.
General experience 2/5 will probably try their regular menú but...
