Delicious Eats in Puerto Rico

I honestly do not know how to start this I just know that you need to come here. Great customer service the person help me by explaining what was inside of everything I ordered. She even told me of stuff that were not out there for sale but they had for me to try. Everything is sold by the pound or by portions. But overall the food is super affordable and is super delicious. Do not leave without getting Tostones de Pana. It is coincidentally the most Puerto Rican thing I have ever tried. I wish I could have taken some more home. The half a chicken that I got was super delicious I was still very moist, the ribs were tender. The pulled pork was superb. It is about a 10-minute drive from the airport, there are other restaurants owned by the same person but this is the best one out of all of them. I hope you don't miss this place.

The food deserves 5 stars hands down this is the best roast chicken I've ever had and the pork literally just melts in your mouth not to mention the very reasonable price. I'm so glad I found this place and they are open late so perfect for them late flights into SJU and need a good bite to eat the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars total is bc I got very frustrated with ordering they had one line then two lines then stopped the second line as I was about to order so I got very frustrated but thankfully a nice man sitting down eating spoke up for me (language barrier i was trying to explain my frustration but I don't speak spanish) and once the staff understood what was going on they corrected it and took my order. I will absolutely be back!!

We came to Bebo’s as is was highly recommended to us by my husbands co-workers who are from San Juan. We had some issues with our flights so it gave us an opportunity to take an Uber over and grab an early dinner. We got there and found a line, we jumped in it and began our wait. After being there about 15 min a very rude woman walked up to us and asked for our order. We were not prepared for this type of ordering we hadn’t seen a menu and had no idea what to order or how to order. When we tried asking question she was extremely rude and pointed over towards the counter and said something like “that is what we have”. We walked to the counter and found just a couple items in the hot line. But wait! I found a QR Code leading us to a menu. We prepared our order and when the rude lady came back we were ready to make our order. We waited in line without issues yeah it was hot and kind of a long wait but not a big deal we get that part. Once we were called to the counter to collect our order and pay we noticed something different happening then with other customers. The rude lady came up to the counter and took control of the credit card machine. She began to charge us, she held my credit card after the chip reader did it’s thing. She turned it towards me to leave a tip. Due to her horrible service I decided I was not going to leave a tip. This is not a full service restaurant. She had the nerve to confront me and say “you are not going to leave a tip” I flat out told her I would not be leaving a tip because of her attitude and treatment of us. The most important thing here is that she didn’t do this to any other costumers. It was very clear to us that she treated us differently because we were obviously tourists. The food was a amazing and Bepo’s would have received a 4 or 5 star review from me but this women ruined our experience. Another note I’d like to make is that normally I ALWAYS tip and almost always OVERTIP. So the main point I want to make is if you are a tourist you should stay away from Bepo’s!

Such AMAZING food! The BBQ chicken is top notch. Dark and white meat are moist and juicy. The Puerto Rican sausage is flavorful and rich in herbs. It is hard to explain, but it is more like chicken in a sausage casing than it is sausage. The prices are so good too because you order some by the lb. The half chicken, pound of sausage, and a large rice was only $22. Could feed an entire family for cheap really. You order at the lady outside and then they make and bag up your food to include plates/forks/napkins and then you pay at the window. Very nice people and very good service. They speak Spanish mainly but speak English enough to know what you want. It is outdoor seating, so just know you've got birds and heat.

The food here is delicious. But I have to warn people this is not American barbecue. In America it's first about the sauce. The seasoning and the sauce. Then it's about how tender the meat is. The sides are third. Well, here the meat is pretty much just smoked meat. No sauce. Perhaps you can ask for it but we didn't know and didn't think to ask. This is great if you have food allergies as it's just pure meat. It's boring if you are expecting American southern barbecue. No rub, no seasoning, no sauce. It is tender and juicy. As far as sides forget leafy greens, corn on the cob or macaroni and cheese. The only vegetables and sides in Puerto Rico it seems is plaintains, Yucca root and yellow rice. We did enjoy it.
