Air Margaritaville San Juan — Restaurant in Carolina

Was there last week, leaving Puerto Rico back to NYC. I was starving and although saw how ridiculously high their prices were (almost $30 for a quesadilla), i didn’t have any other choice. I sat at the bar and immediately ordered one of the simplest easiest dishes at a Mexican restaurant - you guessed it! A quesadilla. 15 mins went by, 30 mins went by, and now an HOUR. I began getting extremely frustrated. Two women sat beside me, ordered, and they got their food. ME? STILL WAITING ON MY ONE QUESADILLA ONE HOUR LATER. When i saw that a party who had sat wayyyy after me received all their food while mine was no where to be found, I was furious. I tried to get the bartenders attention, NOTHING. At this point i am literally screaming HELLOOO for someone to pay attention to me, NOTHING. I also have to mention that I’ve worked in restaurants and in the service inddustry all my life so not only do I understand it but also would NEVER be rude to anyone for no reason, that’s just not how I am. Eventually i saw a man who looked like the manager. I got his attention and expressed my frustration. At this point I just wanted to pay the check for the soda I had drank and leave this horrible place. I told him that. He quickly ran to the kitchen and came out with a random quesadilla and said “look it’s here do you want it ?” I was sooooo hungry and had a long flight ahead of me so I took the plate, I had to. Not only was the order wrong! But as I’m eating it, i overheard the “manager” saying in Spanish to another waiter, “the order isn’t even in the system”. I am a native Spanish speaker but since I spoke to him in English, i am guessing he thought i couldn’t understand. That’s when i butted in and said “I’m guessing he forgot because he hasn’t paid any attention to me since I got here”. The man barely even apologized. Okay. Now to get the check..... at this point I literally just wanted to leave this place and not even pay !! (i wouldn’t never ‘dine and dash!’) ANOTHER 10 MINUTES PASSES BY. Still trying to get my check. 20 MINS PASS BY... FINALLY GOT IT! I thought oh maybe they are taking the quesadilla off my check and that’s why they are taking long. To my surprise neither the quesadilla (that was wrong) or even the soda was discounted from the bill. This was the least they could do have done honestly. And again, I’ve worked in the service industry all my life and just so you get an idea of the type of person I am, i have NEVER sent back a dish in a restaurant even if it was wrong, didn’t like it, undercooked, etc. I have NEVER asked anyone to take something off my bill because i didn’t like it, i am not out here looking for a free meal!! I paid $35 dollars for the nasty food, frustration and anger that I had experienced during my visit and I am still upset. Please avoid this place, you will...

Came out of security and saw a long line so my family of six thought we’d give it a shot! Waited 25 minutes before we sat, waited another 10 mins for our waiter to greet us, when we were greeted she said she would be right back came back 15 minutes later and asked if we wanted to get something to drink, came back with our drinks immediately (less than 2 minutes, all waters) said she’d be back in a bit because her new table was “on the other side of the restaurant, but no worries I can do this!” Came back 10 minutes later to get our order, food took 35 minutes and guess what? ITS COLD! Could’ve told you that was coming since I’ve been in the food industry my whole life and know what to look for! Out of water for over half an hour, had to actually go up to someone who was just standing and looking around and asked for a water pitcher, and she asked if we wanted bottled or fountain... The one time our waitress came and checked on us, she came to the table and just stood there... Didn’t ask if anything was good or if she could get anything fo Then we tell her we would like our checks. Dropped them off 10 minutes later, had cash out and has the audacity to walk by us 3 or 4 times because cleaning a table people are still eating at is more important than get people who are ready to leave and getting another table to make more money since she wasn’t going to make anything off of us. When we asked for change she looked at us funny and asked if anyone was paying card! Kinda giggled and we all said no, brought our 1 ticket that needed change and it was crumpled into a ball... VERY VERY ASTONISHING!!!!!!!!!! LUCKILY OUR FLIGHT was 5 hours away, over heard a few people saying they wanted to go there and showed them what I was wrong and they thanked us and when to the convenient store to get snacks... Will...

Okay so I have to join everyone else with my one star rating.

This joint is a tourist trap beyond belief.

Got to the "wait to be seated" sign and was ignored for 5/6 minutes, that should. have been the first sign to check reviews.

Grabbed a bad seat as a solo traveller it's always easier, no greeting from the bar staff.

Eventually ordered and turns out no draft only bottles, weirdly thus coincides with bottles being more expensive than draft... I'm sure it's not the reason....

The prices are outrageous, $25 for a relatively basic burger who's bun was sodden through, falling apart and the burger didn't even taste that good, the chips were pretty solid though.

Whilst waiting for the food some to go orders were turning up and most were sensible, but one group of ladies were just being rude to the bar tender but also not wearing a mask, one of them backing up into where I'm sat multiple times, this isn't a club ... Bar tender saw I had to move be back a couple of times and said nothing so I did.

They were just chatting and not ordering any drinks etc for ages so masks were off.... Thanks.

Eventually they ordered shots and I'm certain it's people and situations like this causing violence towards flight crew. They weren't asked for ID and I'd question their being over 21, they were clearly already rowdy but getting served large shots now.... No responsibility from the venue.

Very interesting that the bar tender was turning away service pointing out the convenience store was cheaper for drinks, if your own staff are doing this maybe fix your menu prices as post-mix shouldn't cost more than the airport convenience store...

Really would not recommend going here for anything more than drinks, and even drinks these were the most expensive airport drinks I'd had in a...
