Im not one to leave reviews and especially negative because as someone who works customer service i know anyone can have an off day. But the server and his treatment was beyond horrendous and unprofessional. We had a party of 6 celebrating that two of us were back home here in Puerto Rico for vacation. From the start the male server was snarky and had a critique for anything we ordered. There was a member in a party with a shellfish allergy who opted for the orange chicken meal and the waiter decided to take it upon himself to let him repeatedly know the entire night how childish he was and if he wanted orange chicken he shouldn’t have come to a sushi place. A friend asked about the ‘mariposas’ and whether they were like fried wontons (they are just a different name), just asking for clarification. To which we got a whole speech on how it wasn’t the same bc they use better ingredients here, which is fine, BUT the comment and attitude saying “if you want fried wontons you can take your happy go lucky self over there to panda express” was entirely unnecessary and rude. He made distasteful homophobic comments about my friend and people outside. Gave us snarky ‘nicknames’ such as ‘white girl’ & ‘lucky charms’ (In reference to my Friends pride tattoo and the other speaking english) and would YELL to us from across the restaurant to call our attention while attending other tables and constantly butt into our conversations. Even going as far as telling someone from the group how she should have gorrilla tape placed over her mouth because she was talking so much. Also Various times pulling out a chair to sit down at our table and literally just passive aggressively insulting us. During this there were other tables being serviced and he never once spoke/acted like this to the other tables which made us feel singled out. We got our bill, paid and still tipped even with the service he gave. But We were honestly too shocked and disgusted with the behavior to even call a manager that we got up and left to which he saw us and simply said “oh i wasn’t kicking you guys out” sarcastically. His entire demeanor and attitude was rude and unprofessional andruined the whole experience and dinner for us. The food was excellent but with a server like him there i have no desire to come back again or recommend the place to...
Read moreWasabi Restaurant is one of my all-time favorite dining spots, and I’ve been a loyal patron for five wonderful years. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the incredible attention we receive from the owners and the waitstaff, always makes my family and me feel right at home.
This restaurant truly embodies a family-friendly environment, and the food is nothing short of mouthwatering. Over the past five years, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic waiters, but Mateo stands out as the absolute best. He’s not just a waiter; he’s become a cherished friend to my family and even my daughter. His infectious laughter and genuine care for our comfort make every visit memorable.
Mateo’s extraordinary treatment of children is a true testament to the outstanding service at Wasabi. I would rate this restaurant a 10-star gem if I could. If you haven’t dined here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. Wasabi Restaurant is a true culinary delight and an...
Read moreThis place needs a make over fast! It just feels like a cheap chinnese restaurant. The food is awesome and Mateo was great. Prices were a little overpriced considering is in Carolina and the atmosphere felt cheap.
I liked the food a lot and Mateo was awesome blasting some classics from the 90s/00s. If this place had a vibe like restaurant Kaiju in Santurce it would be one of the best Asian/Sushi places in PR. It needs a hang out vibe with a good bar and flashy drinks, something that feels more edgy and classy.
I will try it again in some weeks but if still the same is just not worth the trip to Carolina and prices are a little high for the location...
