STAY AWAY!!!!!! food is horrible. The only reason I gave this restaurant 3 stars is because of the mountain view, not for the food. Unfortunately, this restaurant was disappointing. We decided to give Stickney's a try since the staff recommended it despite what I've read in the reviews. Where do I begin? Arrived there for lunch . It wasn't busy so we couldn't understand why it took over an 1/2 for our appetizer, soup and salad to arrive. The appetizer arrived first. We ordered the artichoke and crab dip which came with deep fried potato chips. The dip was creamy mixed with crab and mayonnaise (I'm sure there were other ingredients in the dip). So disappointing! the chips were greasy and salty and the dip was made so creamy with the mayo you couldn't even taste the shreds of crab. The dip had so much mayonnaise we couldn't even eat it. Without complaining to the waiter we put the plate to the side on the table. Next came the recommended clam chowder by the waiter and staff. What was put in front of us was cream soup and potatoes. NO CLAMS!! I thought this soup was called "clam chowder". It also had no taste. For $18.00 a cup I expected more than just potatoes. We also placed that aside on the table. Lastly came the salad wedge. What can go wrong with that , we say? Lettuce wasn't fresh, wilted. There r wasn't anything to it. That salad was also $18.00. The waiter never asked if we were enjoyed our food. No drinks , just water. Our lunch was well over $60.00 for an unpleasant experience. Instead of calling this restaurant Stickney's the name should be changed to Stinky's because it STINK'S. Please stop recommending this restaurant to your guests Omni!!!! We decided to go to the Adair Country Inn and Restaurant. It was delicious. Glad we went. All and all, I would like to say that the accommodations were great . We loved the hotel mountain views and the hotel staff was friendly. We would stay again just avoid the restaurants. Also, there isn't much around besides the ski mountain. If you drive into sugar Hill try Polly's pancake, we did, delish. There is also the Adair Country Inn in Bethlehem for dinner. Littleton has some nice restaurants too.. I hope this...
Read moreMy partner and I went to Bretton Woods to celebrate!
On our special day, Myles (?) was a fantastic waiter, going above and beyond with his phenomenal service, even refilling my water without me noticing! And of course who can forget the special complimentary surprise, they made sure our experience was beyond extraordinary and made it memorable for life.
Unfortunately our experience did not start that well. The day before, we were greeted with a bartender at the front seating area, where he was definitely attentive for the first 3 minutes when he asked for what we wanted to drink and I said I needed more time. In the next 8 minutes, we waited for him to come by to even raising my hands to catch his attention when he was clearly available but did not come by. Then a family of 4 came, to whom he came and served immediately. He then took their orders, went back to the bar to make each of the 4 drinks, and came back to serve, all the while my arm was raised to get his attention. After 10 to 15 minutes of foolishly raising my arm, I wanted to walk out. Why was I wasting my time with this guy who was clearly ignoring me. But to clear any confusions, I went up and asked him to be served, to which he said "I came by earlier and you didn't know what to drink". Despite being taken aback with the attitude, I retorted "yeah, that was 10 or 15 minutes ago". And of course because he had to, god forbid, do his job, came by. And said "what do you want". Forget basic manners, his attitude made it feel as if I was trying to de-escalate the tension despite just wanting a nice steak dinner! And of course, he came by promptly requesting to clear my plate when there was clearly plenty of food left.
I don't know if I was racially profiled, but I held it together to not ruin some special moments just because of one ridiculously rude bartender.
Regardless, Myles more than made up for it.
Thank you Myles, you were a trooper for saving our vibes :)
The place itself has great vibes, great food, and great portions! I strongly recommend the location, especially if you're staying...
Read moreThere aren’t a lot of options in the area for people who are gluten free and vegetarian until we finally found out that Stickney’s has options that I could have so we made it a point to drive all that way and plug in our electric car at Highland and walk 3+ miles to the Washington Hotel to be told that they would not serve us even though I have diet restrictions due to my autoimmune diseases. So even though we walked all that way after hiking Mt Washington with no lunch they still denied us a reservation because we did not have a room with them that night. We were severely disappointed since we make it a point to visit the Washington Hotel at least once while we are in New Hampshire on holiday. Not a fan of people who can’t just be a human being and be courteous to feed someone who legitimately felt like they were going to pass out. Luckily we were able to sit in the back patio area of the hotel and snacked on bar food. We will be keeping this in mind for the future. During these crazy times in the world we greatly value local businesses and value a strong community. We did not feel that the feeling was mutual. Like we said prior we did not know how much of an issue it was going to be to find a place we could eat at so we couldn't have called prior(which we did call on our walk there but that wasn't early enough to make alternate plans) to see if there was going to be an issue because time was running out and I needed to eat to take the medications I need to stay alive and even expressed that this was an issue but instead was met with, "sorry...
