Great hole-in-the-wall! I've been sad ever since Coconut on Belt Line closed down, but I finally found a new go-to Thai restaurant. Looks great and clean inside, but I do hate that the handwash sink in the restroom looks like a urinal. Please change that ;-; Otherwise, the place looks great. Service is a bit weird. I mean, the waitstaff has always been nice and friendly, but they can be a bit too absent, sometimes. Also, when we ordered yesterday, the appetizer came out after my entree, and we had to wait another five or so minutes for my friend's entree (it was the two of us). Timing is the only weakness here. My friend and I dine here about once every other month and the food is great. Combined, we have very much enjoyed the green curry, pad kee mow, soft shell crab, crab fried rice, curry friend rice, chicken lettuce wraps, crab rangoons, and Chilli Thai Volcano. Pad kee mow and green curry are sorts of comfort food for me, and it's nice knowing I can always get a good order here. The Chilli Thai Volcano is probably the most unique thing here and my favorite! It is pretty filling, though. Speaking of, the portion sizes for the entrees here are great! They aren't so large to make you super bloated, but they are great sizes for what you pay. I know I'm being a glutton, but portion size always worries me at a new place, especially with Thai food. Appetizers are more regular size, maybe even on the smaller side, but still good. The pictures are of the pad kee mow and the soft shell crab appetizer, not the soft shell crab entree. P.S. Forks are the proper utensils for most Thai food, but I just ask for chopsticks because I am used to them.

I've been to nearly every Thai restaurant in the area, including the very new ones and yet this one continues to be my favorite. From the outstanding and attentive service to the outstanding value and quality of the food, this restaurant definitely deserves a high place on any top restaurant list. We ordered the drunken noodles, shrimp fried rice, Red curry and Tom long soup- all of which I would gladly order again. Each item was served hot and quickly. The Red curry had a great delicate balance between it's natural sweetness and savoriness served with chicken- you can choose between chicken, beef, tofu and shrimp. The restaurant is always clean and servers are attentive to which I never had to ask for napkins or refills. Most items can be served with a spicy level between 1-5 with the final spiciness being "thai hot." Personally I enjoy level 2 spiciness with 3 being my max. My favorite items being the softshell crab, the red curry, seafood volcano and the Tom Kai. I gladly take both my family and dates here anytime.

Went to have dinner with a friend here last night. A few things I would like to compliment on before I get to the food is that the ambiance is nice and the staff is nice. Now to the food, we ordered chicken pepper and drunken noodles. The pepper chicken was literally nothing but chicken with crushed pepper. There was no authentic taste and to be honest it was very bad to taste. Now the drunken noodles were very bland. No flavor at all, tasted like flat noodles and salt. Was very, VERY disappointed with the food. Not to mention both my friend and I had very bad stomach aches an hour after our dinner. Super disappointed with the food quality, flavor, and the authencity of thai cuisine. I will definitely not be coming back.

Ordered from here at least 6 times before tonights experience....

Called in order at 7:31 PM for 2 orders of veggie spring rolls and and order of the Yellow curry Chicken spicy 4. The lady confirms my order, and tells me that the order will be ready in 30 min. I go to to the restaurant and get my food, only to return home and figure out, the curry they gave me was not correct. I immediately called the restaurant, and asked what was on the ticket( thinking maybe I ordered the wrong thing), to which the man on the phone confirmed it was Yellow Curry, and after confirming what veggies were in the curry, he told me to just bring it back, show the kitchen it was the wrong order and they'd make a new one. So I head back to the restaurant, and upon getting there I showed the clerk the order, which he again confirmed they made the wrong food, and gave me the correct order. I ask about compensation for their error, and having to drive back and forth to the restaurant, to which he said that it was the best they could do. I asked him again, and he said no this is the best we can do..... I would have been happy if he would have said can I get you an appetizer, like another spring roll order - So I let him know that I would review this experience on google review. Hopefully this will be a coaching situation for the employee, and ownership will explain good customer service, as the food here is good! 2 stars for...

The wife and I have been coming here for a couple of years. It's about time I've reviewed Chilli Thai. We have always enjoyed friendy, prompt service, well-prepared dishes in a "not-too-Thai" setting.

Agree with one reviewer who said it was not easy to find being in a small sort-of strip mall. But yes, certainly worth looking for!

On our most recent visit, we had two appetizers (soft-shelled crab: YUM!!!) and split an entree. It was quite enough for us both. We asked that the heat level be "#2"on the entree. I've had Thai at other places where their menu showed three little chili peppers by the name of the dish and it'd be mild as baby food. Not so at Chilli Thai. They like their spice. Level 2 was just spicy enough to have us go "whoo!" and not needing to down a gallon of water to wash it away.

They don't serve alcohol, but you can BYOB. It's one of my favorite ways to dine anyway - so much more inexpensive. We keep coming back, and if they keep doing what they're doing, so will we!

UPDATE 7/29/16

They are in a new location: NW corner of Old Denton & Hebron Parkway. A bit more chi-chi with more emphasis on Thai decor (Buddha and elephants done Jackson Pollack) but cool.

Had a bit delay getting our appetizers out due to "take out orders" in the way. But the rest of the dining experience went smoothly. And food quality still the best.

We are still regulars here! ...
