Eggsellent Cafe — Restaurant in Carrollton

Everything started out okay until our food arrived.

We were a group of 7 and we are at 2 tables right next to each other.

I usually when I go to a breakfast place I'll order steak and eggs. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out almost fully rare. You could not even cut it and had absolutely no taste at all and was completely bland. The eggs were bearable but was nothing special. The hasbrowns were crispy on the outside and after you got past that, it was all mush beyond that and it was not edible. I also got toast with my order and they only had wheat and white so I went with white. The toast was pre-buttered and was all soggy with no crunch at all. The only thing I would have again would be the water.

When we were getting our food they constantly mixed up our tables and would give the wrong order to another table. Maybe about 10 minutes into eating my friend across the table ordered an additional french toast. They ended up giving it to the wrong table and even when they told her that they didn't order it she still gave it to him anyways. We then asked what happened to the french toast and she laughed and said she brought it to the wrong table. She then asked if he wanted another one but it would have to be charged. We were done at that point, not willing to pay for a new french toast we never got and the fact that we had already finished eating and wanted to leave.

Our waitress never checked up on how we were doing or how the food was once. When we asked for some extra butter she gave us some attitude and said "you need more butter?" looking very confused. She mixed up our tables and was just not inviting.

I will never go back to this location and am very disappointed with the food and service we...

Update for today's service 5/9/2021..yes, it's Mother's Day and I expected a wait, especially on Sunday too, BUT today we walk up and there is n one standing outside to take names, so I enter the door to cash stand. Two guys are at register, not the usual awesome lady who works it. One proceeds to walk around and past my husband and myself and out the door. Starts taking names of other people who walked up behind us. The one guy at the register asked if we had a to-go. I said no we wanted to sit. He said nothing else, but looked out of the door. I proceed to go out and talk to the guy who is now outside writing other patrons names and tell him we were there to sit and eat...he writes my name down BELOW the others who got there after me!! When I asked why we were skipped, he shurgged his shoulders. I told him he walked right past me and his answer was "I didn't notice". Not acceptable..then informed us there was a 40 minute wait after we plainly saw a table for 2 and a booth in the back that was empty!! We decided to leave, especially since last few times going, the food has not been up to their standards.. obviously neither is the service. So sad

Can someone explain to me why this is rated 5 stars?! Try the Awake Cafe instead!!! Far from Eggsellent. Omelette was ok but looked bad, Pancakes ok had way too much baking soda or flour. Syrup tasted good had to drench the pancakes and still didn't finish them, Grits was meh kinda sweet drenched in fat, not sure what happened there. Coffee was ok. Service was ok. The atmosphere was a bit hectic and loud, sitting next to the kitchen... There were so many other free spots, but they seated me there. I had to listen to the staffs conversations behind me. Wouldn't recommend. On top, they charged me a tip for food I took to go. The tipping options started at 18%, and the waiter stared at me while I chose it... Takeout Salmon benedikt tasted like it come from Lewisville lake!

Update: Lol what a response, so if your customer won't tell you to split the bill for takeout and dine in, you automatically assume he wants to tip you on the take-out?! The customer has to ask for good seating? What is ur staff being tipped for? Bringing coffee and food to a table? Your food is of average quality and the service is poor, in today's times definitely not where I am spending my hard-earned money......
