Enjoyed our evening celebrating a wedding anniversary (#55) and Father's Day. Hubby wanted Chicken Tikka Masala. So we ordered a variety of chicken and mutton dishes, a couple of rice, all three varieties of Naan (we liked the butter & garlic best), and bean & spinach dip. We also had 4 servings of desert. Was kind of a crispy funnel cake & with a delicious syrup. The owner gifted us with 4 of their sweet stuffed "pancakes" stuffed with sweet potato or squash? Delish. I didn't get a receipt - so I can't tell what we ordered. Wanted to sample several menu items. We had plenty of take home. 🤩 It was easy to pack up leftovers. The owners were accommodating and patient explaining the various menu items. We'll know what to order next time and have an idea about portions. The portions are generous. Lots of families joined us - and there were plenty of pickups. The atmosphere is clean and bright. The owner and staff were accommodating and hospitable. A great experience. Although we did not use handicap parking - the parking was level and plentiful. Having a level cutout at the front door was helpful. Especially if we need a walker. Nice to have Indian cuisine nearby. 🥰

Not what I was expecting when I ordered the lamb biryani. I'm a sucker for lamb and usually it would come in chunks with or without bone, but this one ended up being grounded like beef. Not too sure I'm a fan of this version since I can't taste the lamb as much when it's all ground up so small like this. We also got a chicken biryani which I enjoyed as well. Of course, we had to get the butter chicken as that's our favorite and it was pretty good. The naan that we got was a bit too burned in areas which gave a deep bitter taste which was unfortunate. Biggest surprise was the veg biryani which I never thought I would try. It was really good and the smell reminded me of tea eggs for some reason. Overall, the dishes we got tasted a little bland in all areas. Maybe because I'm used to more heavy spices, but still enjoyable if you care for less spice. The portion sizes here are huge though and I had plenty of leftovers.

The food is very authentic, the atmosphere is very clean and white inside with a huge television at one end and desserts at the other! And everyone behind the counter wants to service you and help you and bring out good food and so everything so far, it taste really good, especially the samosas But I have a wide range in front of me and the Tikka masala paneer here is probably the best I’ve tasted in the Dallas area and we’re up in Carrollton! And even though it served in Styrofoam, it is so worth it, after all you’re not gonna eat the Styrofoam you’re going to eat the food! The samosas are fabulous, the pastry is thin and the potato fill ones are tasty with turmeric on the inside and butter! The salt lassi has a sweet background, so it’s very flavorful and even their naan is unusual, not only in the tastiness of it, but it’s not overcooked, and the dough is quite flavorful and soft! This is really good food!

This was our second visit to Sai Bhavan Restaurant, and once again, it was an absolute delight. The selection of vegetarian options is impressive. We tried the Karam Dosa, which comes with three varieties of chutneys and a Sambar, and the Avakkai Paneer Biryani, which was excellent. Despite not favoring overly spicy foods, we found these dishes to be perfectly suitable for our palate.

The staff is courteous, especially the gentleman at the cash counter who kindly inquired about our dining experience. Their tea is also very good.

If there is an area for improvement, it would be the volume and content on the TV. While the staff made an effort to change the video to something more appropriate for families, the selection in their playlists was quite jarring. Choosing something more suitable for children would enhance the dining atmosphere.

I recall that on our first visit, they generously offered us Pulihora and Curd Rice for free, which was a lovely gesture to welcome a new customer.

They also have Bharateeya - Telugu Vari sweets and snacks which are worth trying.

Overall, Sai Bhavan is a gem for vegetarian food lovers, and we look forward to...

We recently placed a large order with Sai Bhavan for a group of 35 people, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Given that we were transporting the food to a State Park nearly two hours away, the team was thoughtful in offering menu options that would travel well and stay fresh.

For lunch, we chose a simple yet delicious vegetarian spread—mango pulihora and curd rice, complemented with sides like pickle, raita, and fryums. The highlight of the meal was the Bobbatlu—rich in flavor and perfectly made, they were a hit with everyone in the group. Everything was flavorful and perfectly spiced, just as we had requested.

For dinner, we had chapatis with chole, a combination that needed to hold up through the Texas heat until the evening—and it did beautifully. I was initially a bit anxious about how it would fare, but Sai Bhavan exceeded expectations.

The quantity was spot on, with absolutely no wastage. We sincerely thank the Sai Bhavan team for their attention to detail and for helping make our Dharmic gathering smooth and memorable with such...
