Absolutely the best experience I have ever had at a bakery. I ordered a pretty intricately designed cake from here and Cathy made light work of it! I have never ordered a custom designed cake before and was really worried about how it would turn out. The cake I ordered came out better than I could have imagined. From the creative spins Cathy put on the cake to the perfect interpretation of what I wanted it to look and taste like were impeccable. Grist and Grind has single handedly compelled me to not only get custom cakes made for future events because of how amazing the experience was, but also keep coming back for their other in house treats! Not only was the cake amazing, but the customer service, and kindness they showed made me feel like I was having it baked by an old friend! It would be impossible to exaggerate how wonderful my experience was with Grist and Grind. If you are even considering going to a baker or getting a cake made - you would be lucky to have them as your baker!!!! Thanks so much for the wonderful experience Cathy and Amber - I will be stopping...
Read moreThis is two reviews really. And a hopeful request. This place is awesome! The wonderful woman who runs it knows what she's doing and understands baking! And the bakery doesn't insist on itself. It's not like the chain ones where the walls and ads tell you you're enjoying something, it lets you find and uniquely enjoy what YOU want. There's all kinds of different treats and pastries and they don't taste like each other! I find in lots of bakeries, everything kinda tastes like everything else.
Not here.
Also, I came in today because my lady oil change had me NEEDING chocolate. Madame Proprietar of Goodness, please add what you made me to a special menu! It was literally EXACTLY what I needed. And I know I'm not alone! That magical brownie and perfect chocolate frosting with Oreo dust is art and gonna be a regular...
Read moreIt's a lovely little place, but we must have visited on a REALLY BAD baking day! Cinnamon rolls were flat, less than an inch high. When I commented on how they looked, employee said, 'Yeah, that's how they turned out, but they're still delicious'. She was wrong! We bought two, an almond croissant and an apple hand pie, and took them to our daughter's family. Food was horrible! Rolls were heavy and tasteless - croissant was DRY and no almond taste - pie was just okay, but nothing great. A very expensive stop - we won't be back. Others seem to love the place, so maybe it was just a bad day, proceed...
