This place has good food, they are a bit pricey but the quality is what you're paying for. I ordered 3 orders this past month for three birthdays, my grandma, mom and work mom (haha). I gave them no instructions besides the flavors/frosting choices on the two cakes, and they delivered with really beautiful simple flavorful cakes. I wasn't too pleased with the customer service around it, because it genuinely seemed like they're extremely understaffed and seemed to be too busy to take the time to speak to me but I was willing to live with it if the baker put their skills where their mouth was and they did! My whole family was pleased both with taste and presentation. I ALSO WANT TO NOTE!!! That I gave the baker a extremely daunting task of doing buttercream frosting roses with an ombre affect, and they KILLED IT! Buttercream is extremely fickle and being able to do a rose in buttercream is a very hard skill to master and the fact that they were able to execute it perfectly speaks to their skill. That was the only order I placed where I wanted it to look a certain way and taste a certain way, it was 1 dozen ombre buttercream rose cupcakes, and I didn't expect them to add the fondant leaves but they did without me asking! Especially when they were busy, like most food places are now with half or less than half staff. I also always come here for a good chorizo burrito! And their grilled cheese and pastrami...
Read moreI went in there for the first time looking for a nice breakfast and cuppa coffee. I could not find a menu anywhere. As I patiently waited for the person in front of me at the cash register to finish, another couple walked up, and the cashier waited on them. And then all of a sudden five more people walked in, and I realized that I was not in the proper line. Nobody’s fault really but my own. So I left the store and I thought you know what I’m gonna go to the hospital. They have awesome breakfast. And for $9.35 I got a three egg vegetarian omelette and a wonderful cup of coffee. After I finish my breakfast, I went back into the kitchen and thank the chef for a wonderful breakfast and told them I was only there to see them, to have a great breakfast, and I did at that! Thank you very much for a pleasant experience. Looking at the menu prices on line, I see for the same omelette and cup of coffee I probably would’ve spent $15 plus a tip. So, no, I am not upset with LA bakery. The lesson I learned today was there are definitely cheaper places to eat out there that are just as good if not better. And go spread your smile at the hospital. Wish somebody a wonderful day because I am sure that is the last place that they want to be. We will all end up there one day. So go over there and have a nice lunch or a nice breakfast and give...
Read moreAt 12:30, lunch time, when we arrived the muffins and baked goods were already gone. 12:30! This is nothing new. There have never been baked goods when weve gotten there but 12:30 was the earliest we've arrived. We got our orders in and went to the side room to accommodate the 5 of us. When they brought our sandwiches we were told we had to be out of the room in a half hour because they were closing and cleaning it. There was a line to the end and around the order counter. Where do they expect these people to sit? Another customer with a baby in a carrier came in and sat in the room while we were eating and they told her she'd have to move. I felt this was rude because there were very few tables in the main room and a big line. There were 4 in her party My sandwich was not good. I ordered the Ham Lovers special. One half had one slice of thin ham. The taste was awful. But everyone in my party was half done eating and I chose not to reorder. This isn't the first time we've been run out of the side room or it was closed. The last time we went we had to take our food to go because there was no seating. I think it will be a while before we return. It's crowded and noisy in the small dining area. Most of their food is good but not worth being crammed in a small area and putting 5 people at a...
