Put some hot sauce on my breakfast burritooooo babyyy - try to get that out of your head now and yes it's from one of my favorite movies LOL. And yes, I sang this as we went to pick up our called in order previously saying to my hubby to order one for himself because this gal is NOT sharing her chorizo, egg, potatoes, refried beans, shredded cheese wrapped up in a gigantic flour tortilla then drizzled with Playa Azul's homemade salsa thank you very mucho lol
Playa Azul has been in Carson City for many, many years and for us, a go to for breakfast burritos on many a weekend and they have NEVER disappointed with taste, service and price. We have had many different items from their menu from Tortas to Tacos and an occasional lunch special but for our family we stick to ordering either Machaca or Chorizo Breakfast Burritos to share or just downright overly stuff ourselves. Then that song starts playing in our heads and their homemade salsa/hot sauces & onion, cilantro, fresh pepper bar beckons us to fill up all the little to-go containers so each bite of our WONDERFUL Breakfast Burritooooo is covered with hot sauce babyyyyy
Where to go to get these wonderful burritos - Playa Azul is located on Hwy 50E aka William Street next to Smith's grocery store in an older building that reminds me of an old Taco Bell from back in the day. They do have some seating inside and it's just your a-typical taco stand, meaning definitely nothing fancy. Order at the counter, grab your hot sauce babyyy, they call your name when order is ready and seat yourself - similar to fast food...
Read moreUsually I get the burritos here. The AL Pastor (spicy pork) is the best out of all the meats. But this time I decided to try the deep fried whole fish. This dish at other Mexican restaurants is around $19.00, but here it's just $12.99 for the same fish. It's served with rice, beans and french fries, along with 4 tortillas.
It takes about 10 minutes to make, not like the 1 min burritos. Plated beautifully, it's just as tasty. Seasoned perfectly and fried with a crispy skin, I'd say this is the best dish here. One thing, you really need to eat it at the restaurant. This will not travel well to go.
Also, we ordered the Fish Taco combo plate, served with 2 fish tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were stuffed generously and pretty darn good.
This was a great alternative to just the...
Read moreI had this place just the other day and had one of the best burritos I've ever had in my life. Online it says they close at 8, so I got off work early and after a hard day at work, all I could think about was having another burrito only to be met with a close sign after my 15 minute, stomach groaning drive. I am very sad and disappointed. Their sign does say they close at 7, but they need to change the website info, especially if it is misleading and incorrect. This rating is not about the food at all, please come here for a delicious meal, but it makes me sad that I did not get a...
