Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Carthage

We stopped for gas across the street from the Carthage location. I had to truck as our travel trailer is big and did not want to drive through with it. The employee that helped me was AWESOME!! young man with diamond stud earrings. He allowed me to order at the pick-up windows. I ordered a black coffee and asked for a suggestion of a coffee based 'sweet and happy' drink. He suggested a Carmelicious with an extra shot of espresso. We had some great laughs and he urged me not to feel rushed by a vehicle that came quickly up behind me.

As suggested, I waited around the corner at the employee door. When my order was ready, I was greeted by the young man and a young lady. Both with big and genuine smiles. This was really nice and made my walk back to my truck very pleasant. Having been traveling long days for the previous 4 days, this was such a wonderful interaction throughout.

How were the drinks? Delicious!!! My husband's coffee was hot, rich, and well brewed. My Carmelicious was FANTASTIC. Not too sweet. A great balance of flavors with nothing overpowering the other flavors. Espresso, dairy, Carmel...all balanced beautifully. This is the best cold coffee and dairy drink I have had. I don't drink coffee normally. So this balance was very noticeable and appreciated!! Thank you, Scooter's Carthage and your awesome employees!! These Canadians...

I went to Scooter's yesterday with my kids. We ordered our drinks and pulled around to pick them up. My total was $14.19, I gave the cashier $15. She turns to her register and immediately turns back and asks if I have change because she didn't have change. Fine with me, I hand her $.19. I expected her to return a dollar. She didn't. I asked her about it and she then claims that I only gave her $14. I insist that I gave her $15 and my son who was in the seat beside me and had seen me count out the money confirms. She said well I don't have it. I let it go but because it was only a dollar but feel it was really shady. I won't be returning to Scooter's. I don't like dishonest people who steal.

ETA: So, Scooter's replied to my review and asked me to put my review on their website. So, I did. I was contacted by email the next day. The manager offered me a free drink but the store manager is who really made me edit this review. The store manager took the time to review the camera's and see that I was telling the truth. They apologized for it. She did say she thought it was an error on the cashiers part. However, it just made me feel reassured that I was right. I knew I was right but the cashier made me question it. I ordered a large Americano (something like $5.14) and I received what looked like weak tea and tasted like hot water. There was no discernable taste whatsoever. I stopped by on my way out of town, I don't like coffee to be screaming hot when I drink it so I waited 20 minutes for it to cool a little before my first sip.
