If you like an unfriendly atmosphere this is the place. If you want to see a magic trick of seeing how someone can make a filet mignon taste like shoe leather again a perfect place. Young woman taking our drink order not only didn't smile at any time she even snuck in an eye roll.Buffet at this place is very small I can't tell you if the quality was good as I didn't really want to go near it as it seemed to be guarded by people with their arms crossed looking angry. Not sure if they were angry because they might have to refill it or if they thought a customer took more than they should have. So instead of trying the buffet I ordered to go with my meal I opted to just wait for my meal. When it arrived it was a very tiny piece of steak although it was only a 6 oz so I expected that (although Texas Roadhouse 6 oz tend to be larger) as it turns out the tiny steak was more than enough as one bite in I was trying to decide if I was eating Nike or Reebok.I tossed my tiny steak onto my partners plate to go with his tiny steak and 10 French fries. Atmosphere gets a zero, quality of food 0 value is a zero but I will give them a 10 in security for not allowing the buffet food to run away. Also location gets a 10 as Burger King is just across the road so you can fill up...
Read moreIn the past I have had good luck with the bar at this place. Food has been very good. However last time I ate there we made the mistake of getting a meal brought to our table. My wife and I ordered the largest steak they had with mashed potatoes and salad bar. After we had got our salad a waitress came up and snatched our ticket away replacing it with another one totaling $7 more. No words as to why. She added a soup and salad.. Then she brought two more plates. Now we had a total of four salad plates. Very bizarre. The steak was very fatty and the potatoes were flakes out of a box. The salad was good. When I paid I asked about the extra charge. Evidently, they did not want us to split the largest steak. So, they added a meal which we did not eat. If the person taking orders would have just told us we would have changed our order. Anyway, they refused to admit their mistake. They appeared very sneaky. I guess the customer is not always right there. I will not be going back for a long time. As I went to my car an older man told me that he had recently had to pay for three meals when he had gotten only two. They appear quite stubborn about mistakes. I wish the previous manager would still be there. He was very nice. Make sure to...
Read moreWelp, when I'm wrong, I'm gonna fess up. And I was almost wrong about Sirloin Stockade in Carthage, the key word being ALMOST. Here's my story... A co-worker and I were looking for a good lunch spot in Carthage when the Hillbilly saw "Tue. & Wed steak on our buffet" on Sirloin Stockade's sign. We whipped on to the VERY crowded parking lot and went in with visions of sirloins on our brains. But, after paying for the buffet, there were no steaks out. Hmm. Come to find out, (as the sign CLEARLY STATES) it was after 3 pm. Duh, dude, read the sign. So, once the HB got over his confusion, he hit the buffet with a newfound purpose. The buffet might have been smaller than some, but it was the BEST buffet of any kind I've had all year! The roast beef was great, the hot rolls were light and buttery, but the desserts... oh my! The Apple Cobbler was almost as good as Mom's! After speaking to Nicole, our server, (who was AWESOME by the way) we found out that this is one of only seven remaining Sirloin Stockades in the U.S. Kinda sad news, but this one ain't going nowhere, because the food, the service, and the selection is keeping them in...
