Read moreWe've been loyal customers to this West Cary Andias location for about 4 years now. Unfortunately in the past 6 months the service quality has gone down. My most recent bad experience was tonight with one of the managers named Charlotte. My wife always gets the six scoop sampler flight with no waffle wafers. The new employee who who was being trained by Charlotte presented my wife with the flight. Charlotte proceeded to take it back from the employee and said you must weigh it. It was weighed and deemed too heavy, so it was discarded, and a new smaller flight was then presented with waffle bites. This is not what we asked for. If Charlotte wanted to teach and have a moment to train a new employee, policy and procedures, there's a better way than doing it in front of the entire establishment with lines and customers listening and witnessing this. She deliberately was loud and obnoxious about it. Could have taken it to the side and told the employee on the next one we must weigh it etc. Very disappointed to feel that embarrassment for one of the new employees. Side note really intriguing that they need to weigh the six flight sampler with the waffle wafers?? The whole weighing of the product and then reducing that weight and then serving it to me was just very off-putting. Anyway, very controlling, just scoop the ice cream and put it in the containers and be nicer to your new employees. They're all kids learning, job skills and customer service. Charlotte obviously needs to go back...
Read moreLong lines, but worth the wait!
I've always seen long lines out front (like, legit 60 people), and this time I was excited to catch them at a "slow time". There were still about 30 people in line, but we were all squished inside (meaning there were almost 100 people in line during the busy times!!!), trying to read the latest flavors and worrying about making our choices count. I swear, I think people put more care into their ice cream selection than elections!
The fresh, homemade waffle cone scent wafting through the air was too tempting to pass up, so I tried a double scoop of their award-winning vanilla and chocolate in a waffle cone. I know it's a small detail, but they actually filled the cone to rhe bottom with ice cream, rather than just setting the scoops on top. My husband got the cookies and cream ice cream in a cup, and he finished eating his before me, which has never happened in our almost 20 years of eating ice cream together! I was pleased to see they had "Pup Cups" for our fur babies, and since we were all on an outing together, it seemed only fair that they should also get something. Though certainty not a regular occurrence, the dogs were very satisfied customers, enjoying their vanilla cups with added dog bone treat. The staff even put lids on the cups and gave me a bag to make it easier for me to carry 4 ice cream treats at once.
Excellent service, fantastic options, and shockingly delicious. A MUST try, even if you're...
