05-12-2025: so my husband and I decided to go by DICED near our home in Cary to grab some salads and figured we would give them another try since I last posted an issue with what use to be my fave salad spot. Today seems like I went back to 10 mos ago with one exception that at least the tables were clean. How can two salads be so very different…..how is that possible the pictures represent the inequity of same……but that wasn’t the kicker! I am TIRED of spending my hard earned money in establishments that treat me like I don’t belong……the negative “Karen” energy by the young lady that helped me was disgusting. My husband who ordered before me and with another employee received glowing service…….he looked at me and said what the heck is going on…….i expressed fear to speak up as i did not want my food tampered with any further……..I emergently needed medication with food and this was the ONLY place that fit my dietary restrictions. I am so done with having to complain about what I would call basic common courtesy…..greet the customer and fulfill there order in a reasonable manner without all the attitude and blank stares and lack of professionalism…….i am so tempted to flag this location at work for an inspection but ONE or TWO bad apples should not cause harm for others……so I am going to think long and hard and discuss some things at work…….. When you see workers displaying there trauma scars, wiping there nose and no hand washing you know that’s a serious problem that I bet if I spent the day in the store would get them a violation for sure……….you need to do better! I read many of the complaints that have been logged and they seem to be trending unfavorably…….do better! 10 mos ago:Of recent the change is staffing has made this location horrible! Unwelcoming and clearly NO regard for keeping an eating establishment to DHHS standards. Given the climate of high transmissible diseases you would think the dining area and food prep area would be attended to and cleaned. 4pm made a purchase with my husband and I should have walked out. The tables floors and serving prep area had NOT been cleaned-thoroughly disappointed as this was my fave healthy local eating spot. The two employees working today were as welcoming as the dry wall in my garage left unpainted. I am tempted to contact my employer and file a formal complaint with what I witnessed today. Lastly the portion sizes for $50.00 were a CRIME-half of the bowl was filled and how is that possible when I order double of 90% of its contents. Felt cheated and robbed……decided to NOT eat the salads/wrap once getting home due to NO handwashing from servers where hanging out and talking, clearly dirty and unsanitary environment. Tossed everything and became irate that I wasted money and still needed to spend money to eat elsewhere. Note to the management-I work pretty high up on the org chart (married name) for the NC Department of Health and Human Services (post is under my maiden name). It’s simply NOT okay to allow your business to fall below standard……SMH!!

This was a definite "try it you might like it" dining experience! Therefore, I invite you to do the same! My friends and I decided to go to this casual salad bowl restaurant for location convenience, instead of driving 15 minutes more to our absolute favorite similar menu place. Two of my friends also wanted to purchase extra bottles of a particular dressing that they loved the last time they were there. I am personally sorry we did not drive 15 min more to our favorite restaurant and spend $15 for each bowl plus drink, instead of at DICED! The environment at DICED Salads was clean and the salad ingredients were neatly presented. The salad staff was polite enough and prepared a nice-looking fast-food salad. The young woman who cut up the greens was amazingly professional at her job. She could weld that salad cutter and mix that salad with amazing speed and precision. Now you should know that my friends liked their salads and loved the dressings. My lower food rating was because the cost of adding a little extra topping cost $1 to 3.50 each; for very small portions. Secondly, my salad had no real taste of crisp freshness nor did it have a true "green lifeforce energy" to it! It had that straight-out-of-a-plastic-bag kind of energy and taste in my opinion. You know how wonderful your body feels when you eat a healthy fresh salad... well that feeling was missing for me! The blue cheese dressing had little blue cheese in it and was not interesting to taste. The roasted veggies were bland too! I am very particular about having good-tasting food since eating out means, almost always, that I have to give up on having organic foods. I do like the taste of fresh flavorful veggies and toppings and therefore, I did not like spending that amount of money for the DICED Salads. PS. I did try to eat the leftover salad the next day but, no, still did not like it...put it back in the frig thinking maybe I would like it later in the afternoon, and it is still there. Disclaimer: Again, it could have just been that my tastebuds were off, however when I ate the fresh hot homemade butter squash and chickpea curry that I made later the next day, it tasted excellent.

Diced is a cool concept & heavily influenced from the “bowl” restaurants that are all over Manhattan & other major downtowns. It’s Raleigh’s version of Chopt, Sweetgreen, justsalad & the likes. It has an interesting menu, fresh looking clean ingredients and a bright welcoming ambiance. However it does fall tad short on flavors. The dressing needs more work as it isn’t game changing. If customers are hooked to the flavor, they’ll earn their loyalty. Hope to be delighted the next time :)

My husband and I wanted to try this place out today however the customer service was horrible. First the lady taking my order was very scattered (just in a rush and no one was in line) I had to repeat my order twice. Once placing my order she built the bowl. The chicken appeared old and rather using a spoon to put my selections in the bowl she used her hand with glove on. I also saw her wiping down parts of her other food pieces with that same hand. It was unsanitary. I will say she was the only one wearing a mask. She stepped away and started cleaning up things in the back with the same gloves. Someone else took over. I asked her how old the chicken was and I was informed it was a day old. Due to dietary restrictions and health concerns I declined to move forward with my order. My husband decided to move forward with his order. In the midst of making my husband’s meal the three ladies were discussing that I canceled my order while complaining that I waisted food. My husband asked were they talking about us. We had to ask twice before someone acknowledge us. We were informed that they were discussing if I should still be charged and that food was waisted. Very unprofessional. If they had concerns with me canceling they should had addressed it with me rather talk about me while standing there. We still waited for my husbands wrap (this is about 20 mins). The cashier comes with the wrap and asked if we have been checked out we say no she laid the wrap down at the register and goes to help another customer. No one acknowledged us. We ended up leaving. All three of those employees need to be fired. I will never try this food or return. I will also bring calling corporate. This treatment was...
