The good - The wings were amazing - Thai chili and rosemary garlic. When I arrived I could see the smoldering wood chunks in the oven, hence the bit of smokiness in my wings, but they didn’t last. I was so indecisive of what pizza I wanted, by the time I ordered it there was only wood ash, and what appeared to be a gas flame. Therefore my pizza didn’t have any noticeable wood smoke flavor; it was still delicious though. I had the pear Gorgonzola, I was worried the Gorgonzola would be too salty but it was the perfect combination. It was very cool watching them making the pizzas from my bar seat, the main pizza maker (pre oven) was very detail oriented. I didn’t see her pull out a phone once, and she took great care ensuring each pizza was perfect, she had long brown hair in a braid. Big compliments to her. Good craft beer and decent wine selection. The blue cheese for the wings was also amazing!!! It would have been superb with the buffalo sauce!!!
The bad - 2 people in the kitchen kept taking out their phones and ear buds, and then touching food. Eww.
The bartender was also very friendly, but soon after my arrival he started taking tables and still serving the bar, which meant the bar service wasn’t as good as expected, which is part of the reason I love sitting at the bar. Once the dining area slowed down he was able to talk a little more and be more attentive. I did also see them putting on gloves to make what I think was a vegan pizza, to prevent cross contamination, so that’s nice.
And, the ladies room was clean, wheelchair accessible, and had a...
Read moreI visited Brixx for the first time this evening while celebrating a friend's daughter's birthday. There's nothing children love more than pizza so we decided to have dinner here after seeing a movie nearby at Paragon. The restaurant is located within the Parkside plaza across from the theater.
The service here is excellent. My rating is favorable in terms of the service here. The staff is welcoming and courteous. The children ordered from the kids menu which my 10 year old found unimpressive. Not many options just Mini pizzas and pasta. I decided to split a Sausage and Spicy Honey pie with my friend and my daughter enjoyed 1 slice from our pie. The spicy honey was very tasty and really enhanced the spicy flavor paired with the sausage. Very Sweet and savory. The quality of the pizza here is where they lost me. The pizza could stand a bit more coal fire to brown the crust. The pizzas are tiny and could stand more toppings.
The most memorable part of the night was dessert. The S'mores Dessert Pizza was cooked to perfection. The kids really raved about this ! The combination of the melted chocolate, toasted marshmallows and crispy graham crackers topping the soft and crunchy coal fired dough was out of this world good! If they could cook the pizza pies the same exact way as the s'mores dessert pie, I would increase my 3 star rating to a 5.

Read moreI had been coming to this brixx location for almost 2 yrs now. I know a lot of the employees by name. I had always enjoyed my experience here until tonight. Ordered the wild mushroom pizza which comes with arugula. Tonight the kitchen staff decided to put a ton of oregano instead of fresh crispy arugula. Bummer. So I called to let the manager know and here begins the problem. Jackson a young rude guy answered and said, "uh , you want to talk to the manager? Why?" Then he said "he'll be here in a couple mins; call back then." And abruptly hung up. So when I called back he picked up and hung up... a total of three times. I know for a fact they have caller ID there. When I got back to the rest I approached calmly and said, "so who was answering the phones? " Jackson said that's me with a very combative demeanor. I asked why he kept hanging up on me and surprise surprise he said I have no idea what your talking about. JACKSON never even apologized. Eventually the manager came . He gave me my money back. Suficely to say i will never go there again. I will miss Caroline, Max and the other emps. Hey JACKSON if you think you are better than the service industry then quit and do something else. Stop being a liability for the rest of the staff...
