Last Sunday we put an order for 1 dozen holiday mix and 1/2 doz glazed For a holiday party To be picked up at 4 oâclock And I was running late and showed up at 4:17 Already behind planning to just grab my donuts and go. But when I arrived the manager Tristan informed me that someone else had picked up my donuts. He insinuated that Someone may have picked them up for me but I told him I wasnât sure how that could happen since nobody knew I was buying donuts. Unless There was someone who was out there reading my mind. And just had a hankering for donuts that day. So he looked at me and said âI guess Iâm going to have to make them again?â Well yeah! I paid for them! There were signs everywhere informing pick up orders that they must sign in order to recieve their order. When I pointed that out Tristan said that only pertains to delivery drivers such as DoorDash or Uber eats. At this point I was getting angry because I was already late and I suspect that they had just not made my order to begin with And weâre making up this mysterious person who supposedly picked up my donuts. So While I waited I asked Tristan if I could get a complementary mocha latte since I had to wait on my donuts. He said no he could not give me a free coffee or he would be in trouble. I asked him if he was the manager as he said how was it that he could not give me a free cup of coffee? I do believe if he had given me the cup of coffee and just apologized I would not be leaving this review right now. But he refused and was very rude. He even Followed me out into the parking lot to yell at me and my husband while we were getting into the car. Finally I got my donuts which were hastily put together on hot donuts the glaze melted off and was a hot sticky red and green mess by the time I got to my party. 2 inch thick pools of glaze surrounded each donut. Nobody was impressed. Least of all me. So now I will not be going back to duck donuts. It was a bad idea anyway because donuts are not good for you. Itâs basically like serving your friends a bunch of poison. But I wanted to support a small business and I was excited about the idea of holiday themed desserts. But I have learned my lesson well. Mostly I believe Duck donuts should think about changing their policy so that anyone picking up togo orders should be required to sign or show the order number. And Tristan should not be a manager. Even a manager at a donut shop. He needs some more customer...
Read moreI came to Duck Donuts after a very long time. This was just my second time going when I went yesterday afternoon. It is located in Cary on Wrenn Drive near the post office.
The store was pretty busy. People were coming in and outâŠconstant flow of people. There was only one person at the counter taking orders. I believe his name was Tristan. He was very helpful and understanding. I had never ordered multiple doughnuts or at least not in a long time so it was new to me.
It was taking me longer to order than most people and he still kept his cool for the most part which I get. The place was really busy. I saw they had caffeine free chamomile tea which I love. I was having trouble opening the box to get an individual tea bag out. He could see I was struggling and told me how to get it out. I also that that it was nice to be able to get your individual tea bag out and steep it especially during Covid-19.
I went back to order hot chocolate for my Mom and realized I couldnât find my credit card. I was really panicked. I asked around at the area where they make the doughnut assembly and the guy there said he can ask around.
After looking all over, I went back to Travis to ask if he gave me my credit card back or by mistake still had it. He seemed slightly upset and said, âWe donât keep credit cards.â
When I sat in my car, I found fit. What a relief. I called the store back an hour later, and explained what happened to the girl that picked up and to thank Travis for all his help.
If I could I would give this place more than 5 stars! I will def be back. Great food, made fresh and to custom order.

Read moreMy husband walked into Duck Donuts and requested one of the Motherâs Day donuts with the rose in the middle. He was told he could not purchase just one donut with the flower, that he had to buy the whole Motherâs Day Dozen to get it. He said ok and paid for the special Motherâs Day Dozen. Upon being called over for his order, he looked at the donuts. None of them had a frosted rose in the center as pictured on the menu (the whole reason he was told he had to buy the dozen). The girl at the counter just placed a papery looking flower image on 2 donuts. My husband asked where the frosted roses were. The girl replied that was only the photo. That the papery flowers are edible. What terrible service and FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. My husband paid extra by ordering a bunch of donuts we would not have pickedâŠonly to get a sad looking knock off of a beautifully advertised donut for a special day. I could see if they ran out of the roses and said sorry, we ran out (before the transaction). But this was plain swindling. Not smart on your part Duck Donuts of Cary. Do better customer service and donât advertise something, and have people pay EXTRA for something, you DONâT have. Pictured are the donuts recieved vs the advertised donut. One donut is missing due to my toddler having one before the...
