This restaurant has the friendliest service I have ever experienced and their sauces and curries are among the best I ever tasted. I have been to perhaps 50 different Indian restaurants, with maybe 10 of those being Himalayan origin. It ranks among the best for taste and is the best for service. We went a Friday night that was quite slow, a surprise considering the great reviews they have and quite noticeable since the restaurant is so large. The booths are private and there is plenty of space between tables.
We were seated by a very nice young man who gave us appropriate time to decide on drinks and brought them promptly. The wine list had only three very expensive bottles, but the selection of wine by the glass - though short - was a good mix and we all enjoyed the wine we ordered.
We started with the vegetable momo that were the best I ever had. The dumpling wrapper was a supple, slightly translucent cover to a rich mixture of vegetables and spices. The dumplings were perfectly steamed, reminding me of the best I have had in Shanghai or Taipei. And the spiced tomato sauce that was served with the momo was outstanding, rich and a little spicy and a perfect complement to the momo. We tried the lamb palak, chicken korma, shrimp coconut (Madras), and Nepali Khashi - we were also served the chicken curry by mistake and it was left for us to eat for free. All five dishes were great. The sauces/curries were all very rich with a great depth and complexity of flavor. As with all Indian and curry restaurants, it sometimes seems you do not receive a lot of "meat", but a little goes a long way when the sauces are this good. The goat in the Khashi was very tender with and was a nice match with the curry. Goat meat has its own deep flavor and the sauce did not overwhelm it. The other curries were just as good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly (that is not too long), as was the chicken and lamb and all the curries matched their meats very well.
And now on to the service. Our waiter was very pleasant, answered/explained the one question I had and gave us the perfect level of interaction. He seemed like a very happy man. When we were brought a chicken dish by mistake, he apologized immediately and did not hesitate to leave it on the table for us to eat for free. All of our food came out in the right amount of time, our water was refilled exactly when needed, etc. Another man came to visit our table several times, perhaps the owner, who politely asked how everything was and told us of their lunch buffet. He was not intrusive, quick with his message, very polite, and he seemed very happy. A woman (also an owner?) came from the kitchen to bring our food, at one point she saw that our two rice bowls were low and asked us if we wanted more rice - we did - it was also very good. And she seemed the happiest person of all.
In summary, this place is a gem. The momo and curries are among the best I have ever had and you will be served well by the owners/staff who are clearly very happy to make your experience as good...
Read morePlease always practice kindness. Recently I came in to pick up an order. Unfortunately upon arrival my app froze up and at the same time I received a phone call that my sister was rushed to the hospital. As soon as I entered I was immediately chastised for not coming in immediately. Sometimes you don't know what someone is going through and what is going on. It is unfortunate that one of your employees did this before even greeting me. The employee could have greeted me first and asked "is everything ok I noticed you were sitting out front for a little while." Before verbally assaulting me. After getting that phone call about my sister the last thing I needed was to chastised. My grandmother always taught me to live by the Golden Rule hopefully you will consider this.
This is a response to the owner:
This is definitely the correct location. Your response validates your rudeness. I presume that your presumption is precisely incorrect. And your diabolical mind is insufficiently cultivated to comprehend my meaning. And to educate you on what a Google Review is. This means its "my review". When a customer gives a review it is just that. It does not have to be to your liking. Now you said "if you are a customer you would love to sit down and talk but if you are a delivery driver shame on you." Clearly your diabolical mind did not fully read or comprehend my review. Many restaurants have been able to survive and stay afloat with the assistance of 3rd party companies (aka delivery drivers). My initial review stated to NOT verbally attack someone especially when you don't know what someone is going through. Clearly your restaurant enjoys this. You currently have a 4.5 rating. My review is not a deal breaker. Do you comprehend that??? When an app is frozen that clearly means "unable to do anything in that app" (that means unable to cancel nor call support). Is your diabolical mind able to understand that???? I would take the time to explain how apps work but I think it is fair to say its a waste of my time. CLEARLY!!! Once again your response validated how I was treated coming through the door "It is not our responsibility of what is going on in your life." You definitely lack compassion and clearly have an inability to comprehend. Unjust review would mean someone COMPLETELY fabricating something about your restaurant. This was MY experience coming through the door and you just validated how you treat "some people."
3rd response to the owner is something wrong with your brain. Clearly you have trouble reading. Re-read before saying something is fake. The first post said about my sister and the app being frozen. Wow you don’t seem to know how to read. I can only imagine how things are in your restaurant. Perhaps the health inspector should visit. I wonder what your score is. Learn how to READ and...
Read moreI visited on May 6th around noon. I ordered the Chicken Briyani, and the two people with me ordered the Chicken Saag and the Chicken Tiki Masala. Being friendly group we are, we shared our food so I was able to get a couple bites of all of them.
I greatly enjoyed my Chicken Briyani. It had a little heat to it, and the flavor was very good. The portion was very large, too large if you wanted to eat it in one sitting, but it just makes it an even better deal for me. It tastes pretty good reheated, so it's basically two great meals (or maybe even three?). My only complaint was that the chicken should have been cut into smaller bites. It wasn't terribly large, but it felt like they cut the chicken down to being nearly exactly two bites each, which is strange.
The Chicken Saag was really good. The portion was large, but it could be finished in one setting is split with two people. The flavor was very good, and the chicken was cut into small enough pieces to easily be bite sized. I have no complaints to offer here.
The Chicken Tiki Masala was similarly really good. As much as I liked my Briyani, I wished I had gotten the Tiki Masala instead after tasting. The portion was large, but it could be finished in one setting is split with two people. The flavor was very good, and the chicken was cut into small enough pieces to easily be bite sized. I have no complaints to offer here.
The prices appeared high, but the amount of food is larger than you might expect. I think you could easily split an appetizer and an entree and have two people get full. Honestly, maybe just an entree if you're looking for a lighter lunch.
The waiter was friendly, and he refilled my water frequently, which is good because spicy food gives me hiccups if I don't drink a lot of water.
The wait time to get food was good. The food tasted fresh. Overall, I don't have any complaints. The ambiance was nice, and the food was great, so there is no reason for this place not to be full of customers. It was a little dead when I was there, so I get the impression it might be new. If you haven't tried this place,...
