Simmer Coffee House — Restaurant in Cary

West Cary has been missing a coffee shop like this. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and sense of belonging here.

Simmer has an awesome environment with an even better staff, and that’s what really makes this place shine.

The drinks are awesome - we tried the Mocha Cinnamon Cold Brew (not too sweet, not too bitter, just right), the Strawberry Matcha (perfectly balanced, with local strawberry puree), Chocolate Cooler (think elevated chocolate milk with crispies on top. Caffeine free), and the Irish Creme Latte (probably the most underrated drink on the menu).

The toasts are good, and you could probably share those with whoever you’re with.

The pastries are also great, they partner with the drinks well!

The staff is where this place shines. The drinks and food are awesome, but if you’re looking for a real coffee house that cares about that they’re putting out there, this is it. They care about you as a customer and that matters more than the quality of the product sometimes. In this case, the quality of the product matches the customer service and that makes this an incredible place to get your coffee. So whether or not you’re working from here, just stopping by with your friends, or ordering carry out, this is THE place for you. You don’t need to go anywhere else.

okay so this is a cute place, good coffee and bakery choices but wouldn't return again. The customer service is so bad that I wouldn't want to come again or tell someone who visit this place. i visited the place when it wasn't busy, no lines, no customers in the store, the guy who took my order just seemed annoyed to have a customer, it was all just weird. [No simple "hi", "anything else?" nothing just looked at me like and i when i picked up my food and drink nothing again like "have a good day" "straws over there" just blank stare] and when I said thank you have a great day, nothing in return lol I'm like uhhhh ok.... this is just weird. anyways, i was going to take few pictures for Google and Instagram because i enjoy promoting small business to others but interaction with the worker just felt so off. Two big cons for this place:

Disappointed in the coffee. Had high hopes but the pumpkin cold brew was probably, and i hate to say this because i am a massive coffee drinker and have had coffee all over the world, but it was the worst coffee i ever had.

Very bitter. So bitter i only drank half. And it caused my stomach to hurt.

Very expensive. Youll end up paying $8 easy after tax and tip. Probably closer to $10. Maybe Amberly residents can afford that but since the place was pretty empty, it may be a big issue. You can get a much better tasting fancy coffee at Starbucks for a lot less.

Pros It is nicely decorated. Good wifi

One really weird thing to note: There was a very tall barista and he appeared to be wearing a skin tight ballet body suit and tights. That made my wife and kids feel very uncomfortable.
