Hands down the best authentic Indian restaurant in North Carolina. Probably has the best biryani in the country. The variety of Biryanis that this restaurant/cafe has, I promise you wouldn't find it anywhere in America! And I have been to hundreds of Indian restaurants all over the country. Most Indian restaurants have the same masalas for different biryanis, or they only serve those regular Vijaywada Dum Biryani, Boneless Biryani. This restaurant has some authentic Indian biryanis that can rival those in India like the Ulavacharu Biryani, Gongura biryani, Mutton Ghee roast biryani. This weekend I had their limited special biryani called Dindukal Chicken Sukka Biryani, which is a special biryani only made in Tamil Nadu with their special rice. I did not expect a restaurant in NC to have this dish. It's not even there in 99.9% of the restaurants in India. Apart from that, the Rajugari pulav is one of my favorites. And apart from all these delicious food, they have amazing Indian sweets, and freshly made Ras Malai. I wish the place was a little bigger. It can only host around 4 families at a time. But that's not a complaint. Most people order their food to-go, instead of dine-in. This is a hidden gem in this area. If you're a non-Indian, and would like a taste of real Indian food, without going to India, you need to come here right now! If you're Indian and tired of those regular biryanis found in other Indian restaurants, just come here and try the Ulavacharu...
Read morePoor Food Quality and Poor Customer Service
I am compelled to write this review due to the consistently compromised quality of the food served and the discourteous response to customer feedback. On several occasions, I have encountered issues with the quality of the meals provided, specifically with the Vijayawada Egg Biryani, which had a noticeably unpleasant odor, suggesting the eggs used may have been spoiled. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff at Bharath Cafe, the resolution offered was unsatisfactory. Moreover, the interaction with the restaurant’s personnel(I was told he was owner/manager of the store) was disheartening. After reporting the issue, I was met with dismissive behavior and an unwarranted accusation of dishonesty, rather than the expected apology for the inconvenience caused. This experience was further exacerbated by the owner/manager’s refusal to acknowledge the problem, coupled with an attempt to override my concerns during our conversation. It is disconcerting to witness a stark contrast between the initial courteous request for customer reviews and the subsequent defensive stance taken when faced with negative feedback. An establishment’s reputation is built on both the quality of its offerings and the integrity of its customer service. I urge you to consider the gravity of this matter and take appropriate measures to rectify...
Read moreThis place made me so happy today, for reasons more than just delicious food. It reminded me of India and my childhood all at once. Felt so nostalgic and joyful and many other emotions. Can you believe it they have 5 star chocolate, Perk, Diary milk variants which we find only in India, they have amazing wide range of sweets menu like Pootharekulu, Rasamalai, Gulab Jamun, Kaju Barfi etc. They have a very impressive, authentic Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian dishes from different Southern parts of India like Andhra, Chennai etc with customizable spice levels as per the customer's liking. My favorite starters so far are Chicken lollipop, Chicken Chintamani (weekend special), Goat sukka and in Biryanis it is Mutton Ghee Roast Biryani. Meat in both starters and Biryanis is very fresh, tender and scrumptious. The flavour is so good than that of some restaurants back in India. Last but not the least they also have Thumbs up, Mango and Chikoo lassi (my favorite), Jeera masala etc. I love the food and this place and definitely recommend this to everyone who wants to try...
