Came out here on a warm evening with family and decided to have a scoop of ice cream. My understanding is this is handmade ice cream and by the looks of the number of patrons it seems as though this spot is a pretty popular local destination. Earlier in the week I had a rocky road at another creamery and was very unimpressed by it. So I was a bit hesitant to do more ice cream, but the thought of a good pineapple coconut was an idea that was too hard to resist. If there's one thing I'll say it is that Mexican style desserts with typically fresh or legitimate ingredients is a real thing. Like when you have an ice cream bar that's strawberry. It's literally made out of strawberries. The ice cream here was about the same in that they seem to use what tasted like fresh pineapple and coconuts in their ice cream mix. This was a far better experience than the one I had earlier and I also had the chance to try their churros which were much better than the ones I can get at Costco... But I recognize that those typically sucks. So it's not a difficult bar to overcome. For the brief experience that I had here it was good but not great and I suspect you are experience will be as good...
Read moreThere's simply so much packed in this little place! Stepping into this place, one is literally transported to a cafe in Mexico or a Caribbean island. Latin music playing and colorful displays...they serve everything from rolled taco ice creams, regular ice creams, paletas and fruit cups. Alongside with the sweet stuff, they also serve savory snacks. We started off with the street corn and churros split. The street corn was super soft and juicy. I expected it to be roasted and slightly more Spicer. However the freshness of the corn and the hot sauce on the side made up for it. The churros was fresh and the ice creams were good. We took the pinenut, pecan and ferro rocher. Our toddler loved the strawberry butter. Their options for popsicles or paletas were endless and I liked that they had smaller sizes for kids. We took the spicy guava, spicy mango and tamarind. They looked super good and would probably serve as a weeknight treat for our family. While heading out, I noticed the staff actually pealing fresh tamarind for their ice creams.
Small family owned place with fresh ingredients...I think it's a great addition...
Read moreI would would give 5 stars for the ice cream. I had an ice cream taco with coconut ice cream and it was super delicious! Made with fresh shredded coconut right in front of me. The popsicles also looked appetizing, as well as the fruit cups. I will definitely come back and try more treats!
I also like that the place is clean and colorful.
But have to take away one star for customer service. None of girls was smiling, everybody did their job, and moved fast, but the atmosphere was cold (as ice lol). Only the man at check out had a friendly welcoming attitude, he was probably the owner.
Another star I have to take away because the menu could use improvement. It is very chaotic, overwhelming, it took us a while to choose what we want, eve though we had already looked it up online. I wish the online menu would have pictures and prices for everything, and the store itself would have big and clear displays and signs. For example the ice cream flavors are handwritten little papers. You have to get close to read it, and the set up makes social distancing hard, everybody’s all over the place trying to figure out...
