You can tell it’s not Starbucks from the very first sip — the flavor is richer, smoother, and more full-bodied. (I also like Starbucks, haha ).The aroma is strong but not too heavy. Even my husband, who usually doesn’t like coffee, said it tasted great! As a coffee lover, I had to check this place out, and it didn’t disappoint.
The shop is not very big, but it’s clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. Their slogan on the wall, “Life is short. Stay awake for it,” instantly caught my eye — I love that! The cups are super cute and have a soft, feminine design. There’s even a high chair in the corner for kids, which feels very considerate.
The seating area by the window is my favorite spot. In the afternoon, sunlight pours in through the windows, shining on the sofa and wooden walls — it makes you want to sit down, relax, and just enjoy your coffee.
I’ve been to many coffee shops in the U.S., but this one really stands out. While most American cafés focus on takeaway orders, this place feels warm and inviting, perfect for sitting down with friends and enjoying the moment....
Read moreWorst coffee drink ever. I was passing thru and decided to try a new place I asked if they could do a flat white. She didn't know what that was. Then I explained I wanted less milk instead the large amount in a drink. She then suggested a cappuccino. No...I explained I didn't want the light and airy foam. So, I ordered a latte with less almond milk. I then asked how many pumps of syrup was in the flavor combination I chose. I was told SEVEN. Wow, so I asked for 2 of white mocha and one of vanilla (this combo is on their menu). Got the drink. Loved the espresso bean they placed in the lid but the drink was watery and extremely sugary which was the opposite of what I wanted. I wanted coffee house creamy and delicious and this coffee drink was so bad I had to throw the entire drink out. I dont even think there is espresso shots in it. It tastes like regular coffee mixed with watery-sugar filled almond milk (certainly not barista almond milk) with several pumps if sugary flavorings. What a...
Read moreI first tried Caribou coffee by accident during a layover in Minneapolis back in 2017. They had one IN the airport. I was immediately hooked when I first got to taste my amazingly made Turtle Mocha. After arriving back in Grand Rapids, I told all of my friends and started searching for the closest one, only to be devastated that the closest one to me was in Battle Creek or St. Joe, an hour or so away. I noticed the local Meijer stores started selling Caribou's bags of coffee grounds and made do with the Caramel flavored coffee. It wasn't long (2022) before I found out this store was opening right here in Grand Rapids! I started counting down the days. Imagine my delight when I was able to taste the Turtle Mocha again just as good as I remembered! Now, if you could just open up a couple more near...
