One star is cause I can't give them 0. I ordered a to go meal with hopes of good tacos and good beans and rice. The quality of their crunchy tacos however, was mediocre due to using pre-made crunchy shells that were store bought. The meat was flavored well but very miniscule in portion. The true damage however came when I opened the fold covering the rice and beans which had a distinct cigarette ash scent on the foil. Being a former smoker, the food also had the same aspects of a chain smoker's scent all over. It was as if the food was cooked while someone had smoked cigarettes over the food. I called the restaurant and spoke to someone stating I am going to bring this food back due to the cigarette smoke and ash flavored rice to which they offered excuses claiming at first no one who works in the kitchen smoked. I arrive to present the supervisor on duty the cigarette smoke laced food and foil to which he denies that it does smell like that and begins talking in Spanish calling me a liar and that he is going to get me my money back. Another employee talks to him to which they start talking about me in derogatory terms in Spanish, not knowing that I can understand and speak it. Both the employee and the so called manager get into a verbal exchange in spanish with me when i tell them "la comida es preparar en la cocina con fumar de cigarettes." To which they say no and call me a liar or, mentiroso to which i respond "los mentirosos trabajar aqui." Then he gives me my money back, tells me to stay silent and not say anything to anyone about it and says I hope you never come here again. I say I will not be silenced when something is wrong which leads me to this to say en Español, LA Costa's servicio es sucia y mal. This is to say, they need to do better, clean up their kitchen, and fix their service of customers instead...
Read moreCame here with my friends and partner, and we had a great time. The food was really good! I got the number 17, a pork Enchilada and Burrito, and it was quite great! However, when it came time to pay, we were given the check and ignored for 15 minutes. I eventually had to flag down a server to take the check and card, which took a good chunk of that time. After they picked up the check, we waited an additional 20 minutes. My friend and I had to get up from the table and flag down two different servers to figure out what happened with my card. They had “forgotten” the card, having not looked in the booklet before seeing the card hadn’t been run. They then tried to blame us for “putting the tip on before running the card.” Which we hadn’t done.
EDIT: One day later, I checked my account balance to make sure the money had gotten taken out correctly. The staff had taken an additional dollar to their tip “for the trouble”! The staff have no integrity. I hope to come back and these issues will be sorted out and nobody gets screwed over like me and...
Read moreThis place was recommended to us by our hotel in Casper, as authentic Mexican food. We're from Southern California and are used to lots of options for good Mexican food, but didn't find that to be true on our road trip.
The restaurant looked nice when we arrived (my kids liked the cactus blowup), the restrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. The kids enjoyed the bean dip that came with our chips and salsa.
However, our order was brought to us completely wrong. The waitress did not write it down, which happens a lot and isn't normally a problem, but she needs to do better about taking notes to ensure this isn't happening to a lot of people. The only thing that was correct was my son's tamale (which he enjoyed - hence the two ⭐⭐). The food was just ok and we ate what was brought to the table, not wanting to wait longer for food after a long day of driving.
My tostada/taco salad (not sure which, even after reviewing the menu) was a big plate of iceberg lettuce over a small corn tortilla with beans...
