We ordered takeout for dinner bout a week ago. We are from Jersey where American Chinese food is a staple and a must have when you don't want to cook. Most places around us have less than 4 stars so when we saw a place with almost 4.6 stars, we got excited. Our dinner consisted of two orders of chicken and broccoli, an order of plain lo mein for my kids and an order of beef teriyaki sticks. The chicken and broccoli had so much oil in it we literally poured it out in the sink and the food was still oily. Quite literally a quarter in of oil on the bottom of the container. The plain lo mein noodles were generic and flavorless. The white rice was mushy and over cooked which is sad considering Asian white rice you can usually eat by itself. We ended up spending almost $65 on food that ended up just giving us diarrhea for a week. To top it off, the staff was super unfriendly and looked like they hated their jobs. If you still want to eat here after reading this review, only order the beef teriyaki sticks, they were super tender and had a nice...
Read moreThere is Chinese Food that everyone has had at some point in their visit to Central Florida & there is No. 1 China Wok. Having lived in China & Southeast Asia for some time, I find it refreshing that this Chinese restaurant has not strayed from tradition of authentic Chinese food. The use of wholesome vegetables & succulent pieces of seafood & pork fried rice is that invites you to keep eating. Every scoop of your spoon, yes spoon, to scoop up all those little morsels of roasted pork. I’ve been a few places on the planet & have eaten pork fried rice all over, but at No. 1 China Wok, the roasted pork in the rice is way more than U expected. I wanted to be sure that eating here wasn’t just some one off positive experience, so I returned a few days later for their lunch combo specials & once again was very pleased that the quality of food was excellent & the portion size more than filling. If, you’re even remotely thinking of Chinese food, a trip to No. 1 China Wok won’t disappoint. I’m Tom & I approve of...
Read moreI was in the mood for Chinese food, so I Googled nearby options and chose this spot based on the reviews despite it not being the closest.
Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the expectations. The lady who took my order over the phone lacked basic phone etiquette, and the service didn’t improve when I arrived to pick up my order. There was no greeting or thank you—just the price.
Once back at work, I opened the food and found it to be mediocre. I ordered chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce, but the chicken was a bit slimy and undercooked. Additionally, it came with pork fried rice instead of white rice, which I didn’t realize I needed to specify. Coming from NYC, I’m used to this dish automatically being served with white rice.
Overall, the food and service left much to be desired. I don’t plan on returning or recommending this...
