I've had In N Out years ago, but couldn't remember what everyone raves about, so I tried it again. If you get there just right you'll order quickly, but still have a little wait for your order, like 15 min or longer. With all the staff and food flying around it's really surprising there's a wait at all to get your food, and how many people are standing around waiting. It's really loud and busy inside the restaurant too, and the seats are hard and uncomfortable, but I don't think they want people to hang out long, just eat and leave...
The fries are like cardboard, they are TERRIBLE!! Nothing like any fast food restaurant you've ever tried. I'm actually amazed that In n Out is so popular with fries so bad!! I mean all the other day dog joints have good fries, some are even well known because of their fries, so what's up with In n Out? I tried them with cheese, watch means I get all the crumbled pieces at the bottom of the bin with half-melted pieces of American cheese on the cardboard, not even nacho cheese sauce like I was expecting, really not worth $4.
Now the hamburgers, they are presented nicely, they look tasty, and the onions and lettuce are fresh, the bun holds it all together well, but it's nothing you'll remember eating later, and don't get me wrong, they must put something in their burgers that hook you, because they taste good, but don't look too close after taking a bite...the meat doesn't really look like cooked ground beef at all. I don't know what it is. It's sort of a grey color, which really puts you off, and the patties are very thin, so you really taste mostly the onion and sauce. You might not think twice about it because it's good when you take a bite, but after realizing what I was eating, I lost my appetite and left. The food is affordable, but when you think about what you're getting (cardboard and fake meat) it all makes...
Read moreI have to admit, it's very interesting to have finally visiting in-n-out in Castle Rock, Co. I had to decipher what the terms meant, 4x4 and double double, but all in all, much simpler to order than Starbucks.😂
I was quite taken back to see the old school paper hats and white uniforms. It reminded me of the old drive-ins like dog n suds, A&W root beer, etc.
The question from the order taker of "will you be dinning in your car?" caught me off guard, and I replied "yes" why? He just said "ok". Little did I know, it made the difference on how your food was served to you. If you aren't eating in your car, it comes in a paper bag(like every other fast food joint) but if it you are dining in your car, it comes in a card board box!!!!! Sort of like that drive - in feel like it should be resting on your rolled down window sill of your vehicle!
So, overall, loved it!, But IDK what spices they used in their burger, but I seem to have tasted nutmeg? Cinnamon? IDK but either way...
Read moreIt is great that Colorado has some In and Out Burger now. Their meat is always cooked nicely for my liking. But their French fries, I tried many different one such as the one which cooked normally, more cooked, and very much cooked more, they were all tasted a bit bitter, and limp. Their lettuce is one of my favorite, crispy and fresh. The onion sometimes harder to deal with strings came out from the onion. There is another way if you are not crazy about ranch sauce. You can ask for just ketchup on your burger. I would like to suggest more trash bins outside the restaurant. As it was a bit walking from where the car parked to trash bin, on the way, some wind knocked out paper trash before I could put them into trash bin. And flew out of the way it went. I couldn't catch those. If you are going through the drive-through, you can find nice viewing unto Castle Rock area, but other areas seem a bit bare. But for the whole price point, that is not too big a deal. It can be...
