This is NOT Authentic Thai! Just the dish names are and that is where it stops. Secondly, I don' t even like writing bad reviews anymore but I cannot allow this to go unnoticed.
The Tum Yum taste like a salty tomato soup, not Tum Yum that should have the taste of lemongrass, lime leaves, gangala, mushrooms, fish sauce, and spices. There is also no Thai main dishes on the menu besides noodles and rice dishes. We settled for a rice dish. One came out with no flavor, literally no flavor. The second came out and all I smelled was Iodized salt soon as it was sat in front of me, when I tasted it, Iodized salt. That's a first for any restaurant, so I applauded you.
The crispy eggrolls are not homemade. The reason the veggies are soggy in the middle is because they were previously frozen. Homemade eggrolls do not have soggy veggies unless they were to be completely burnt in the fryer. So the menu is also misleading.
I didn't even have the heart to say I wasn't paying for this, nor did I want any of it remade. All the dish were so far from authentic there was no point. I paid for dishes, tipped 15% and left. I will not be back. You could not pay to come back. I am sorry for the harsh words, but this place isn't even trying. The chain down the road has better food and I refuse to eat there as well. Sorry, but not sorry. Two star because the chicken was at least safely cooked to temp and the servers were nice. So you get those for safety and hospitality. Zero stars for Thai food.
Side Note: For the people that say this is the best "Asian" food, clearly do not understand how many cuisines are in Asia. That is like saying the Mexican food was the best North American food you ever had. Get real. I'm guessing they also don't know that Mexico is part of North America. Choose your...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved to the area and were super excited to find a Thai place nearby. Ordered delivery via doordash and overall.. underwhelmed. The timing was great, stuff was still hot, so on that point they were solid. Where it fell apart was the food. We did the crab wontons, chicken gyoza, drunken noodles (medium spicy), and pineapple fried rice.
The wontons were interesting, they had a bit of Indian curry mixed in which we weren't expecting. Probably should have paid closer attentionto the description. Overall they were pretty good if you like Indian curry, but I'm not a huge fan so it wasn't my favorite. The gyoza were average, nothingro write home about. The drunken noodles were spicy (and I like spicy) but overall no other flavor. You can have spicy food and flavor, this just wasn't it.
But where it really fell apart was the pineapple fried rice. Sounds odd, but the first time we tried it was in Thailand and we fell in love with it. Tuk tuk (a local sort of chain) does a great version. Was hoping this would be a regular, but unfortunately, it was just white rice with some semi stir fried veggies and pineapple. No raisins like there are supposed to be, and literally no flavor. Ended up just dousing it with soy sauce and eating it like plain rice... because that's what it tasted like. Maybe we just hit Beau Thai on an off night. But if we're really craving Thai food in the future, we'll just drive the 20 minutes to...
Read moreWe have been driving an hour round-trip to eat at this restaurant at least every other week for over a year. They can take a while to take your order and get you served when you dine in, so we have started ordering ahead and getting it to go. Tonight, I ordered ahead and was told it would take about 30 minutes. Perfect! When I showed up over 30 minutes later, I walked up to the register to inquire about my order and pay. I was blatantly ignored by every member of the staff. Each of them looked directly at me and walked past me several times without acknowledging me at all. I looked around and found most of the tables were full of people with no food in front of them while the staff were acting like anyone who wanted help were inconveniencing them. After 5 or 6 passes of each staff member making me feel invisible, I walked out. I called the restaurant back and let them know what happened. The guy on the other end just huffed in my ear. No apology. No, if you come back in we will have your food ready for you. Just more rudeness. I really like their food and really wanted it for dinner tonight. Instead, I ended at a drive-thru before driving a half hour back home. I will not being returning. I am so...
