We arrived later in the evening. I ordered the 12 oz prime rib special, and all that was available was an end piece in that size, described as medium to medium well. Upon getting it, it turned out to be medium, was tender, and had good flavor. The condiment, on first glance, that looked like a course horse radish sauce turned out to be pure horse radish. It went well with the meat in small quantities, but I must admit, after the first taste, I had no problems with breathing the rest of the evening.
My Dad ordered a bowl of clam chowder. He had not added anything to the bowl, but commented about 5 or 6 bites in that it was good chowder, but he thought it to be a bit salty. As he got closer to the end of the bowl he said it was too salty to finish. I did not taste it, so I can not verify if it was, or was not salty, but he could also have been a bit salt-sensitive tonight. He mentioned it to a waitress but chose to continue eating it, so it's on him, not the staff.
Very clean restaurant, pleasant staff, and good service for being busy and getting on toward...
Read moreAt first it started great! The busser cleaned a table to seat us and said someone would be with right with us, he seated another couple which the dark hair waitress promptly gave menus walking past us, then passed us again to get their order. I made eye contact with her from across the restaurant as she put their menus away, me thinking she would come over to us, nope… she helped the table behind us asking how their meal was, passed by us again to the table in front of us asking if she could get anything for them, then walked away. Not once did she speak to, look at or acknowledge us, did not give us menus or anything at all! And this is all over about 14 min of sitting there with no menus and no other contact. We had seen this restaurant from i5 for years and we finally went to experience it….. we walked out after 16 min and the waitress just looked at me in my eyes and didn’t say a word. Just Horrible service ….don’t...
Read moreWe visited Peper's 49er restaurant, in Castle Rock for the first time.
What impressed me most, is that they make almost everything from scratch (even desserts), which is extremely rare for this area.
The facility was very clean and well lit. The decor was pleasant and nicely done.
We had breakfast, which included the homemade Chicken Fried Steak & eggs with homemade country gravy. It's was really good! As for the portion sizes, they give you plenty enough to make sure you don't leave hungry. In other words, you get lots!
The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the Sausage links were to die for! Serious compliments to the Chef for all of your hard work! It's very much appreciated and not going unnoticed. Oh, btw...the coffee is reeeeal good!
We can't wait to go back again to try something else. I'm sure it'll be great!
The service was prompt & friendly. Our waitress was nice & very attentive, which we really...
