Pleasantly surprised by this gem hidden in the Public Market. Place was a bit crowded and it got more crowded by the time I left. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait long. First thing that popped out were the metal chopsticks. What? Not the usual plastic ones? And then the ketchup. I guess people use it. Food. Came out looking standard. The broth was ok. I thought it lacked depth and complexity, but it was a very clean, solid broth I’ll take any day. Noodles were a bit too done for my taste. What truly shined were the meats. Though the tripe and meatballs were just standard, everything else was solid. The tendon was neither too soft nor too hard. The fatty flank was beefy. I enjoyed it quite a lot. Most pho places get a standard 4 star for me, but even with slightly higher prices than I’m accustomed to, this place gets a 5. Obviously, I only had their pho so can’t speak to anything else. But usually if the pho is good, everything else is good too. But I’m going to a pho place tog eat pho, right?

New pho spot in the Castro Valley market. While on the pricier side for a bowl of pho, the volume and size of the pho actually makes it worth it. It’s a great bowl of pho (we got p37) - packed with ribeye, brisket, flank and tripe. The combo grilled pork chop was good (flavored) but a little overcooked. Service was also great: attentive and kind. They regularly checked in and were efficient with our asks (extra bowl to share, take out for remainders, water). Definitely would come back!

Being in the marketplace, the ambience here is definitely not your typical Vietnamese restaurant vibe. The food fortunately remains authentic tasting! I got the P37 pho which has all my favorite meat cuts and the broth is good! Hubby's lemongrass shrimp was just ok though, something I feel like we could've made at home. The Vietnamese iced coffee was good but the condensed soda egg is maybe an acquired taste since this was one of those times I wish I wasn't as adventurous lol.

I have NEVER been to a place where they completely disregard you as a human. We sat here for about almost 30 minutes because my daughter heard so much about the place. We recently moved to Castro Valley and I love it but this palace, I guarantee we will never come here again! They took our order and never checked on us after, people that came after us where getting their food. When I finally asked the "manager" said his guy never put in the order, I was in disbelief that they would overlook us just because we were Mexican and black. Can't speak for the food because we never even got our drinks but I would not recommend if you...

TLDR: Came for lunch. Food and service is good. Not too salty or oily.

Came here twice in the past week to try the Pho and rice plate. They both delivered based on "less sugar and less oil".

The broth tastes pure and not too salty. Many other pho places leaves your mouth coated with an oily and salty after math.

The pork chop was not too sweet and very tender.

Crystal one of the owners works as a waitress/hostess and is very friendly and nice.

They had some service related issues on opening day, but that's not existent now.

I would definitely make this my...
